"Dinner in love in the exceptional setting of Domaine des Hauts de Loire. A green setting with beautiful buildings. "Passed by the family to Toussaint. Perfect child menu (and without falling into the minimalist simplistic that you sometimes find elsewhere: here children also have the right to eat well. A menu (28€) and menus. Welcome and perfect service. Very interesting agreements in dishes and desserts. I really liked the fish of the day, a black place and its risotto rice path with leeks. Very nice agreement between the spices of the seed cake, the fig and the mint. Only regret: not having asked the address of the supplier of rillettes in mouth amuse! "Home friendly while staying class, relaxed atmosphere, frame, tablecloths: a small regressive side we loved! But above all the dishes are succulent we have tasted the pork cheek and the black bowl on the dessert side, the lost bread is divine! The whole watered with a delicious local organic red wine and we left with what remained in the practical bottle announced entry of the game! A must-see address!"

"Went here on a whim and I was not disappointed. Food was incredible, made with high quality ingredients. My family had fresh hand stretched and tossed pizzas with great toppings and I went for a well prepared burger which came with some fries which were obviously cooked fresh from scratch rather than just fried up from elsewhere and a salad. My food was well seasoned and the ingredients complemented each other. A truly rural French restaurant. We were the only non locals and there was a French karaoke night happening in the garden where we ate with all customers encouraged to participate which added a nice atmosphere."

"We have been visiting La Madeleine de Proust for lunch for a number of years now, on our annual pilgimage to see the Garden Festival at Chaumont. This year we were surprised to find new decor and new proprietaires... and a very new menu hence...another review. My wife started with perfectly cooked scallops in a sweet chestnut sauce. We both had dorade (sea bream) served on a bed of leeks. We were a little worried that it might be a bit bland, but it was absolutely delicious, the fish cooked to perfection and the finely shredded leeks were served in a lovely veloute sauce. For dessert my wife had the madeleine autour de l'orange, where the madeleines were accompanied by orange segments, candied orange peel, orange cream and orange sorbet. All very light and nicely presented. I had the vanilla creme brulee. Creme brulee is one of those desserts which appears to be very simple but is easy to get wrong this one was spot on with a lovely flavour of vanilla. Its a shame you can longer get get pichets of local white wine, but as an alternative you can buy decent wine by the glass. The service was slightly erratic but very warm and friendly to be fair they were very busy and were turning people away so I can only suggest that you make a reservation or arrive early! In summary, if anything the food is even better than it was previously and certainly more imaginative. We will definitely be returning."
