If you want a change of scene from the foie gras and veal, this is your place.

The pizzas were good but the crust was a little too thin for my taste and slightly burnt on the extremes.

This is the second time I've eaten here in the last couple of months. The pizzas are very tasty and we had great service with a smile

Ate here twice while we visited for the Christmas markets. Just around the corner from where we stayed. Nice meal on both occasions very rustic and not over pretentious !! Would definitely visit again

Loved this place. They made some of the best pizza and pasta we've ever had. We ordered the four cheese tortellini and the buffla pizza. Both were perfectly cooked and light. This restaurant is also on a must cost street that is parting the unesco walking tour.

This was an affordable restaurant that had great food. We shared a pizza which was a great snack for 2 people. There is a nice patio with shade or a large indoor restaurant. The interior had a rustic modern feel. Our server was quick to help. He spoke English which was wonderful as I do not speak French.

Also my pizza (with arugula and parmesan) had too much vinegar so it did not taste like much else. But the ingredients were very fresh and we finished all our plates happily. Service was a little slow but our waiter was very friendly and helpful. The apple crumble we had for dessert was very good.

An unassuming little place, there were tables outside in Nov [hardy these locals] and inside. A chicken pizza and an avocado salad were ordered. Enjoyed in particular the thin crust. Staff was friendly. Service was rather quick. With soft drinks, the bill just topped 40 euros. By the time we left most of the tables in the front interior were taken. There was a mix of locals and tourists. It is not a place for fine dining but as the name implies some good home cooking.

Looking for something simple in the Center on Sunday evening (Bordeaux is stunningly short of open restaurants at this time!), we wandered over to Pizzeria la Mama. It turned out to be a hidden gem, with some of the best pizza we have had outside Italy. (We all have had years of living in Italy, so come filled with certain prejudices!) The pizzas are homemade and the ovens, while apparently not wood-fired, are quite good. Good salads, The stunning part was availability of buffalo mozzarella which appeared to be authentic. All of us were pleased with our choices, and an Iberian Flan was a surprising discovery. Service was friendly and efficient, although there may be a small language barrier...
