Very nice and very tasty, but not enough food given if you’re a fat man that can eat good…

Disappointing for a five star hotel. Main fish course was cold, undercooked and lacked seasoning. Disinterested drinks service.

Wonderful atmospheric old hotel. Full of charm. Very good quality bedding, linen. Many fine antique furniture pieces and ornaments. Delightful enclosed square.

Over 10 years, there hasn't been significant changes and that's good!Great dinner in their courtyard that makes you think the rest of the world went away. Swordfish 1st course as an appetizer was very interesting and new. Turbo prepared just right and steak were hits. Mashed (puréed) potatoes made me think of bland baby food. Wine selection is probably the best (for me) in the world because of chatnuf d pape white wine ( you can't get it in the states). Ver carta

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at La Vielle Fontaine. Very good food, with fresh, flavorful ingredients, skillfully prepared and creatively presented. Elegant setting; the dining room is beautifully appointed, quiet and sophisticated, but not stuffy. Unlike an earlier poster, we found the service to be very polished and the surprisingly young staff to be well-trained, knowledgeable about the food and wine, and extremely courteous (in multiple languages, no less). Pricey, but well worth it for such a fine dining experience.

The restaurant is associated with the hotel but has the feel of an independent restaurant. This is especially so if you eat outside in the summer since the hotel is fronted by a very lovely enclosed courtyard and the restaurant is in the courtyard. The restaurant is a favourite of both locals and holidaymakers and was a favourite of Keith Floyd when he lived in the area. We use it regularly for lunch when we visit Avignon when we stay in the area for about four months every year and have done so for at least the last 10 years. There is usually a business menu priced at around 35 euros and a good wine list that includes some of the best local wines. The style is French fine dining. Our last lun...

"I'm a regular here, and I'm not the only one lol! This place is always packed, it's both a locals haunt and a place where well-advised tourists end up. I meet my friends here, I meet my colleagues here, I meet half the town here...And it draws out the locals every evening with good reasons! So, first off: Convenience. Just on the bank of the river, this place has it's own parking.Next, atmosphere: Clean shabby chic orientated decor, open central kitchen, usually pretty crowded, Italian chef.... This place has got the atmosphere where it should be for modern tasty Italian cuisine.Service: populated by hipster and punkette style waiters and waitresses, they might not be warm nor welcoming, but they polite and competent. The service is prompt and the wine suggestions correct.Food: my FAVOURITE part! I love Italian, and I just appreciate a place that does it right so much! Simple, clean, modern and tasty!Their pizzas are beyond a doubt the best in the region, special mention for the Bianca and the Cosi. Their pasta is mouth watering. But I always find the best on their menu to be their dish of the day (for example duck filet with apricots, tuna steak with Italian sauce, roast filet mignon...) and their veal schnitzel. In fact I am a regular to this place almost solely because of their veal schnitzel. Just gorgeous!Oh and their desserts.... Are just delicious, special mention for the raspberry-lemon-white chocolate parfait!Once again, this is not a budget eat-all-you-can low end pizzeria. The prices are midrange. But the cuisine is authentic and impeccable, the setting very pleasant, and it is definitely a place you will come back to after trying it once."
