"After more than 20 years i visited Landgasthaus Rhode again, kind of continuing my history with this place which started some 35ish years ago.It is good to see that some good thing do not change - and do not need to change!Apart from the usual "brsuh-up" over the years the restaurant looks still the same, very german, very cosy and very homely - in the very bst way.Reception and welcoming by the waiter were very friendly indeed. They make you feel as a friend! We were sitting at the same table as so (too) many years ago.The menue is still full of delighful dishes, some of which were my favourites eyars ago are still there. New dishes have been added. The owners son is now helming the kitchen, being the 3rd Generation of Rhode's cooking with the 4th Generation already showing interest as Mrs Rhode - who still recognized us after 20 years - pointed out. This is great! A family run reataurant for families!We were this day in a rather "meaty" mood so we went for quite some carnage in form of 6 weeks dry aged cote du boeuf with vegetables. The beef was pan roasted to perfection, crusty, crispy and soo juicy and tender.One must know that the meat is provided by the owner brother who is the local butcher.My daughter had the very best beef fillet i have tasted for a very very long time (she only reluctantly shared a bite with me).Again, a great experience and a delighful meal after so many years. I will come back, hopefully not waiting for another 20 years.This place is higly recommended for visitors looking for modern german cuisine of the best quality in a rural yet comfortable and welcoming ambiance."

Sehr guter Service, sehr gutes Essen. Wir haben ein Abendmenu gegessen, alle Gänge waren ideenreich angerichet, die Zutaten von sehr hoher Qualität. Hier wird mit Liebe gekocht, wir kommen gerne wieder.

Ein tolles Ambiente zum Valentinstag, eine hervorragende Küche, ein Menü, bei dem jeder Gang eine Klasse für sich war. Das Ganze umrahmt von einem kompetenten und sehr freundlichem Service. Einfach nur empfehlenswert.

Vi havde booket en overnatning uden at kende stedet, vi ville se Duderstadt, og passende for stop ca. 500 km fra den danske grænse, stedet virkede lidt ude på landet, MEN der var alt hvad man kunne ønske sig af atmosfære, god betjening og lækker mad, prøv deres 6 ugers modnede oksehøjreb, vi havde planlagt anden rute tilbage til DK - men valgte Rhode igen. Waren am Ostersonntag da. Es gab leider nur 4 Gerichte zur Auswahl, was man mir bei der Reservierung nicht mitgeteilt hatte.Hauptgerichte waren gut. Aber bei den Preisen für die Menüs, hätte ich bei den Vorspeisen und beim Nachtisch schon noch etwas anderes erwartet.Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich.Die sanitären Einrichtungen sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen.

Das Restaurant ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert. Die ständig wechselnde Karte lässt keine Langeweile aufkommen, auch wenn man das Restaurant regelmäßig besucht.Das Geheimnis liegt aber in der Liebe zum Detail und der kreativen, aber stets ausgewogenen Gestaltung und Zusammenstellung der Gerichte.Besonders zu empfehlen sind die Steaks. Hatte in Europa kaum bessere.Das Service ist ausgezeichnet und nie aufdringlich.Ein wundervoller Familienbetrieb, den man in dieser Form und Qualität nicht sehr oft in Europa findet.
