"Beautiful food, fantastic surrounding, we stayed in the castle so it was lovely to eat there as well, and to just walk back to our room after, we started in the drawing room with a drink while we browsed over the menu and was then taken to our table where we received a complementary amuse-Boucher . Followed by our starters main. I had the Butternut squash soup with goats cheese which was amazing and then the chicken for my main. The only thing disappointing was that we had to pay extra to have the pudding that we wanted and they add on their own tip on to the bill. Other than that it was a lovely relaxed enjoyable evening."

the reservation was made by open table. at the arrival they had not transferred our booking to their list of dishes, so they did not expect us. then we had to wait for an hour before our food arrived. we had no real excuse for that. the food was excellent and the personal friendly. we have often been to longley castle and have always had a good service.

The service was dreadful really basic stuff like getting the order right or making sure everyone got a meal, filling people's glasses, asking if people wanted another drink before they took the glasses. I could go on ….as for the food the portion sizes are tiny, the duck was like leather, the lamb tasteless and the risotto like a bowl of green mush I recommend you stay/dine somewhere else
