"Tourist trap with terrible food and rude staff. We speak fluent Spanish so walked in to an empty venue and asked if the waiter had seating for 3. The waiter said yes and promptly sat me. I helped my elderly mother get her seat and another waiter came and asked if we had a reservation. I said no, but that the other waiter seated us. This set off a chain of events, the staff continued to argue among themselves about seating us. The service was ridiculously slow and they ignored us as the instead took time to re-arrange furniture and speak with other people about taking reservations. After 10 minutes (I timed it) they came back with menus. They were curt and unhelpful. Totally uninterested in serving customers. After more time of re-arranging furniture and chatting amongst themselves they came back to take our orders. We all ordered the daily menu. The waiter came back with bread but no plates. My mother asked for some olive oil for her bread and the waiter brought it but with no plates to pour it for our bread. When we asked, the waiter said they didn’t do that and that they never give plates. He was confused what kind of plate to bring her so he brought her a coffee cup plate. We asked the waiter if we were bothering him or if the restaurant was officially open yet and he responded that “the restaurant was full.” THE VENUE WAS COMPLETELY EMPTY. The food arrived and it was boring, and flavorless. ...just avoid this place. They have no interest in serving anyone who is an outsider or doesn’t know their rules."

A menudo paso por este restaurante, y es una joya escondida. Parece ser el típico lugar caro para turistas debido a su ubicación frente a la catedral, pero no te lo pierdas. Los arroces son deliciosos, y el menú diario de 13EUR te sorprenderá. Las cantidades no son demasiado grandes, ni demasiado pequeñas, simplemente perfectas. Pedí espaguetis con champiñones y costillas de cerdo asadas. Los huesos eran tan suaves que salieron casi sin tocarlos. El personal es correcto, experimentado y atento. Te sugeriría que vengas a almorzar en vez de comer muy bien.

Vinimos a desayunar dos veces como la tortilla era muy buena y sirvieron café Nespresso uno de mis favoritos, también tuvimos jugo de naranja recién exprimido, también es increíblemente barato sólo 6 euros para 2 tortilla, 2 jugo de naranja fresco y un café americano. Anoche vinimos a cenar y ambos volamos a la parrilla de pollo, pero no estaba en el menú, pero lo hicieron por nosotros de todos modos, eso fue un toque agradable. Este restaurante del café tiene una vista directa de la entrada a la catedral desde su terraza, también han construido un restaurante interior en la terraza porque creo que las noches más frescas. El servicio era muy bueno.

The specialty is rice and I did not order rice, so I will have this upfront to give some context to my review. I went for dinner, looking for something light. I ordered croquetas de jamon, morcilla de burgos and a salad. The quality of the food was not as good as other places in Burgos and not a match for the price. The service was good. The cleanliness and style of the restaurant felt great. A nice place to have a relaxed dinner. Not a bad place at all, but I cannot give it more than 3 stars given the unique culinary experiences one can enjoy in nearby places. I would need to go back and try their rice in the future. I would not be surprised if their rice makes this a 4 or even 5 star place...
