"I had ink pasta, steak, and fried squid. There were so many Chinese customers during the time we were there that it was so noisy that we thought we were in a Chinese restaurant As time passed, more Italian customers arrived and the atmosphere changed The food overall was delicious, but the steak was so salty and seasoned that the ink pasta did not taste like oil pasta. The fried squid is a bit bland as it is served with just raw lemon and no sauce."

Great locals feel to this incredible spot. You dine in a 300 year old cellar with beautiful stone walls. All of your food is cooked in a wood fired stove right by the tables by the owner who also serves your table. The local cuisine is the best priced spot in Chamonix, and also as incredible as more expensive places. We ate at several other places but continued to return to Le Caveau.
