"We drove back north with a few friends from a trip to La Grande Motte and drove Le Chalet in Grospierres, which was a menu du Jour at 12€. There were some cars parked with local 07 number plates, which was a good sign, so we went in. There is a fairly large terrace, and although it is next to the main road, the shrub shop makes it less intrusive (although sadly not less loud). The menu du Jour was a slightly strange combination of Thai nems and salad followed by N. African couscous and fruit cake with chantilly cream. The Nems were OK, but nothing to get excited. The couscous was with chicken, a few small pieces of lamb and a small Mercguez sausage, plus some vegetables "steel". Again it was edible, but all the meat was very overcooked. My wife instead chose the river fishing sander from la carte. The fish was pretty good, but he had a whole load of other things on the plate that were completely unnecessary and unpleasant. The service was competent and friendly, although it was easily mechanistic and I noticed that the smile fell abruptly when there was an inquiry. It's probably a good enough stop if your main determinant is price, but I wouldn't want to come back."
