"I've been making annual trips to Menton for the past dozen years and Le Nautic was always on my list of places to eat. The food was great and the view of the old Bastion with the Mediterranean in the background was outstanding. I especially enjoyed the camaraderie of their senior waiter. I was never really sure if he was French or Italian, but he always greeted me with a "boun giorno!", so I conversed with him in Italian. Just friendly chit chat. About the weather, our health, recommendations for fish and the unpredictability of the fountain in front of the restaurant. "Comme Una donna", he would say with a shrug of his shoulders when I pointed to the fountain in the square that was not working and asked why it was so unpredictable. Nothing earth shattering, just friendly conversation to make a traveler feel at home. And like I said, the food was always excellent. Unfortunately, my experience last year was disappointing. My old waiter friend was gone, replaced by a waiter whose snobbish attitude was more consistent with a snobby Parisian restaurant then the usually agreeable French Riviera. But because this place was a regular for so long, I decided to give it another try during this year’s visit. Unfortunately my experience was much the same. Like last year, the service was surly and mistake ridden. The glass of white wine I ordered never arrived and instead of a small bottle of mineral water they gave me a liter bottle. I didn't say anything about the water as I thought perhaps that was the only size they had. But when a small bottle appeared on the table next to me, I felt like I had been duped. As for my glass of wine, after a couple of unsuccessful attempts to correct the problem, I finally gave up. My Salade Verte was above average, with the thinly sliced fennel a nice touch. But my entrée (Dorade Royale) was marred by a few slices of burnt potato. Not charred, but totally burnt. I also found that the addition of pizza on the menu a step in the wrong direction. After all, how many people go to seafood restaurant for pizza? All in all, it was not a very pleasant experience. In the restaurant world change is inevitable. But you hope that the characteristics that you find favorable in one particular employee (helpful, agreeable, professional) are passed on to his replacement. But unfortunately that does not always happen. What was once a friendly outpost in a foreign land was now nothing more than a place of indifference. And with so many seafood restaurants to choose from, I think that the next time I visit Menton, I will give Le Nautic a pass."

The best seafood restaurant in Menton. I know them for years and they keep high standard all time. Well organized owner, good chef, helpful waiters, relaxing atmosphere and fantastic dishes with wonderfull Bouillabaisse up front. What else?

My wife's choice of oysters to start- we shared, followed by my Marmite du Pecheur and her grilled Langoustine. A real seafood treat, all to the highest quality and professionally served. The price was at the top end of our normal budget but for a special occasion it was worth it.

We went for the french classic Bouillabaisse which didn't disappoint. Its a very large dish so we were very full at the end after starting with the shrimp cocktail. The ingrediens in both our dishes were very fresh and perfectly cooked. Service was good and personal and prices average for Menton.

We headed to Le Nautic more for its convenient location to the seafront than anything else and were rewarded with a delicious seafood lunch. The salade calamars and penne with salmon entrees were delicious. Courteous, helpful wait staff. Lovely relaxing atmosphere at our outside table overlooking Le Bastion. Ver carta

Great little restaurant in MentonThe service was great very attentive. The seafood we had was fresh and very good flavors. Looking at other tables the pizzas were very well received. There was live entertainment on a Thursday and the owner also sang. Very special. Dessert was out of this world. Thanks for a great evening

This restaurant located in front of Fort Menton, away from other restaurants. This is a very good restaurant, and all food here tastes great, but I should say that they make absolutely fantastic Bouillabaisse. They even introduce you to that fish what you will eat..We wanted to make a huge order, because we were hungry, but owner suggested to us not do it, due to Bouillabaisse its not only soup, its a fish and other seafood also.. and when we saw an amount of food what we got I regretted that we are only two person.. I should say that it was the best Bouillabaisse that we ever tried. I already scheduled my next Bouillabaisse trip there!!

On a daytrip to Menton, my friends were craving seafood pasta and we decided that the menu of Le Nautic and the place itself with its nautical inspired interior decor looked inviting despite the absence of other diners (fair enough, it was pretty early for dinner by Mediterranean standards). Eventually they were disappointed by their spaghetti vongole and did not find the price (16 EUR) justified. Myself, I had a vegetarian pizza with buffalo mozzarella, which I found quite good, despite being a bit on the soggy side. Waiters were friendly and our food arrived pretty quickly. All in all, it was o.k., but I will try a different restaurant in Menton next time. Ver carta

We returned to this seafood restaurant following a walk through the Fete du Citron garden between the train station and the sea. It a walk from there to Le Nautic (just beyond the Cocteau Museum, facing the fortress at the end of the sea wall). Avoid all the restaurant tables along the sea and go here for the best fish. The special menu for the Fete du Citron (27 euros) was more subtle and tasty than you might think, with lemon and/or orange in each dish. There was an apero, sworfish carpacio, St. Pierre fish course, and (or course) lemon tart for dessert. The tart was not the French lemon tart, but more like a tarte Tropezian - and delicious. Go here anytime, however, for the sea food.

After years of visiting Le Nautic and enjoying fantastic seafood and great service, a recent lunch ended up in disappointment. I have no complaints about the food, which was quite frankly up to their usual standards. But the service was terrible. First off, the waiter was very aloof. Secondly, he ignored our table throughout the meal. And finally he made a mistake with our orders. I was the only one at the table to order an appetizer (a combination platter of smoked salmon and smoked trout), but when he brought out my appetizer he also brought out the entrees for the other guests at my table. I quickly finished the smoked fish, which I originally intended on sharing, but my entree was not fo...

"So I'm not a restaurant contributor although I'm a big fan of the good food and the pleasure of a good meal. I booked this restaurant because it's number 4 in the world's top 50. As you can imagine, I had great expectations. From the very beginning, the restaurant has not enough parking space compared to the number of tables so it was a break to park my car. No valet service either. the dining room has a beautiful view of chin but a very simple decoration and the chairs at the beginning were good but at the end of the meal I had a huge buttache, literally. the chef offers 3 types of menus. the smallest has 6 courses and starts at 110€. at the bottom of each menu, the chef offers the wines to drink with. I chose the smallest (110€) and the employee asked me if I wanted to follow the wine suggestion. I agreed, so it went with the meal. First of all, food wasn't that good. Very simple. Nothing we can expect from a 2 star restaurant michelin! the wines I knew are medium in any supermarket. The service was good but for twice they missed the silverware. At the end of the meal, one of the employees asked me if I wanted to try cheese before dessert. it is not included in the menu price, but no prices were said and nowhere you could read it. We ate a great small portion of cheese. two small pieces of cheese that a 4-year-old could eat in a minute to new york. Here's the check. 500€!!! cheese cost for two, 38€, the wine I hoped to be the wine suggested in my menu of 110€ and which had the price of 45€ was billed and served the wine of the most expensive menu (210€) to 90€ per person. Nobody asked us if we really wanted the most expensive wine list. It was really a disappointment. a waste of time and money because it was not a meal to remember even taken the price factor!"

"the location was attractive. a small picturesque square slightly in draw with a foliage and Mediterranean charm. the restaurant had an outdoor terrace but we decided to eat inside. rustic decoration well maintained. abundance of natural stones and plaster walls of rustic color, nice vaulted type ceiling and terracotta tile floor. We loved him. the kitchen was visible on the path of the toilet and everything seemed chief, busy and good omen. Unfortunately, it's the end of the good news. My wife chose to start with the anchovies leaf and I am the raw ham. The anchovie was not good. Very strange flavor. Too salty. hard dough background. My ham was cut too thick, making the meal difficult. I had to ask for olive oil and gem salt. certainly not the best ham I've had. no comparison with parma or iberico. disappointing. the main dishes were the fish pot and the spaghetti with ceps. Both were a disaster. The fish were cut off. filled with small but important bones. the two rather sad gambas were small and boiled to death. the portion of fish and the quality at the price were bad. Maybe the bisque was swept. The pasta was not good and we left them. we paid 72 euros for this and a very small glass of medium wine and a bottle of flat water. I think chin food is usually not good. French are rather complacent and seem to believe that their historical reputation is enough. Not if. the area is very frequented by tourists and I guess most are unlikely to return to the area, so they think they can get away with it. It's a shame and I couldn't recommend this restaurant. we visit the family regularly to chin, so we would like to find a decent restaurant at a reasonable price. even our family seems to have a bad time. Why? It's the france."
