"sometimes eating in a restaurant is not about trendy eating, fine eating and small teller, but eating about comfort that makes them happy. recently I went to a small restaurant in angel: le sacré coeur, where one of my French friends invited me. it was a good reason to recover many years in a familiar and simple atmosphere. to begin the meal, we shared a plate of mix of marinated olives, cheese with sef and brot olive oil, as our waitress told us the most important courses were quite large. the cheese was good, served at room temperature, two disappointing points over this plate: the quality of the brotes was 't good, so a scandal for a French restaurant and where was the saucisson? my friend ordered a entrecôte grill with a pfeffer sauce. I was impressed by the size of her entrecôte and it was served with beautifully cooked thin frits. the entrecôte was perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. this entrecôte was better and cheaper than the one I tried in chabrot bistrot des halls at smithfield market. as a main course I had the classic coq au vin. it was such a pleasure to have a classic dish done so well, the carrots and mushrooms were slowly cooked in the sauce. carrots melt like butter in mouth. I remember when I went to the trendy brasserie zedel at piccadilly, the mushrooms and carrots were cooked separately from the sauce, it did not taste as great as they were too crispy. the coq au vin first came to the table, I did not notice that it came with a side: sautéed kartoffeln. I think this court would have been enough to be shared by two people. le sacré coeur is not the "coolest place to be for a meal in london, but for me this place was much better than some trendy places. it was very good worth a (massive) main course around £12, it came to £20 per head with wein and the plate we shared. sometimes they can surprise the humblest looking places. le sacré coeur was a simple French restaurant with a very friendly atmosphere and nice French waiter (I know that they are in the real famous to be rude to chris pople.) I will definitely come back to le sacré coeur when I am nostalgic or if I want to eat real French comfort eating without a poor le sacré coeur on when the bill comes. 8/10"

I recently had a fantastic meal at Le Sacre Coeur. I had been wanting to try out this restaurant for a while and finally had the opportunity tonight. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and overall experience.

I love this place, it's my favorite restaurant my mannes in angel! great, fresh tasting dinner that's cheap. house wine is also good, which is a bonus. they also make a good roast at the weekend. try to get a table on the window, it can be quite hot on the back. in any case worth a visit!

a sweet French bistro, with some excellent French cuisine. the French wobble soup was quite delicious. the wine to supplement the food was amazing. the nets were also fabulous. service was timely and not intrusive. ambiente was quite romantic and soft from a cozy little bistro in a village in France!

I absolutely adore this place! I first came here because I was craving mussels and they have a fantastic mussels special. You can have them as a starter for £6.20 or as a main course with chips for £9.95, which is a great deal considering how delicious they are and how generous the portions are. I tried the Moules Mariniere and they were excellent. For a starter, I had the Camembert Frit, which is topped with a red currant and raspberry sauce - a must-try for cheese lovers! The ambiance is charming, with an authentic French look featuring small tables, rustic chairs, and vintage French posters. I recommend visiting for dinner, as the restaurant is cozy in the evening with dim lighting and lo...

Le Sacre Coeur is a charming French bistro located on a side street just off Upper Street. Its hidden location can make it easy to overlook, as Upper Street is home to many excellent restaurants that may distract you. The restaurant exudes an authentic atmosphere, playing upon traditional French stereotypes with its use of blue checkered tablecloths and vintage French film posters adorning the walls. One of my favorite French dishes, Moules Marinieres, is always a hit at Le Sacre Coeur - delicious and satisfying, especially when paired with slices of bread to soak up the garlic and cream sauce. Their cheese Soupe a l'Oignon is perfect for warming up on a cold winter day. Despite not being pa...

This place has successfully managed to recreate the atmosphere and food of an authentic French bistro. My friend ordered beef bourginon which was beautifully cooked with tender meat and a side of buttery mash. I had the grilled salmon salad, a simple dish that consisted of salad leaves, grilled vegetables and a salmon fillet which was well seasoned and had a delicious dressing. Definitely come hungry as the portions are huge! The restaurant is well stocked with red and white wine, and you can order 500ml carafes which adds to the restaurants authentic appeal. The ambience, for me, is the real selling point of Le Sacre Couer. It’s a small space that is very dimply lit, mostly by candle lights...
