"We wanted pizza but couldn't get in to Le Duguesclin so we followed a young family to Le Sarment Brulant. They were almost full on a Saturday night but thankfully we were seated. This is a rather average restaurant but the pizza is wood fired. Service is prompt and friendly. I had the "Viking": scallops & smoked salmon with crème fraîche and ementhal and lemon slices. This is the first time I've had lemon slices on my pizza and it was rather good. My spouse had the sciciliana and was pleased. We ordered a bottle if the house charentais red for 11 euros. It went well with the pizzas: dry & fruity. All depends what you're hoping for: we just wanted a quick pizza for dinner."

pleasant restaurant but waiting is very long (Tuesday evening) nothing to say level of food was very good. However, pizza was too cooked on the edges. I would have put 4 stars, but the wait does not allow it.

Super crisp pizzas , speedy service and delish burgers all made fresh to order. Kids menu fantastic value with the crepes the size of your head for a mere 2.50 Euro !! Definitely will be back, a great find. Also loads of free carparking Ver carta

We enjoyed our meal in this restaurant and bypassed it twice as the exterior is not exciting. The food is grilled in sight of the patrons. We had a pizza and a salad and enjoyed both. Next time I will try a burger or a steak as I think that is the specialty.

bistro type restaurant, lunch or dinner here without a top-up of a preferably cooked meat with wood fire. I tasted a well prepared xxl box and very greedy. the reception is pleasant and the atmosphere friendly. nothing spectacular in the plate, but it is not the concept, we remain in the bistro spirit, simple but good family kitchen. you're looking to taste good meat is the right place.

We were here for the blues festival and looking for somewhere to eat at lunchtime. As usual we looked for somwhere busy with French people. Our plan rarely fails and it did not in this instance. The burger was one of the best I have had, cooked to your preference and a good size. My only complaint was the bun which was so hard to chew that I left three quarters of it. Not that taht mattered, the portions were very generous. Ver carta

This restaurant serves good quality food which is well prepared, full of interesting flavours and reasonably priced. The local house wine is great. The service is fast, friendly and professional. We dined here on three occasions and each time the same standard of cooking, service and enjoyable food.We have tried there steak with their own 'special sauce', the pizzas and fish. The menu is simple but with plenty of choiceNice people and good quality French cooking

We were in Cognac on a Saturday and did not want to go to the usual restaurants for lunch (Globe, Heritage, Courtine etc), for lunch. We noticed this Pizzeria just off place Francois 1st and decide to try it. We did not expect much and were pleasantly suprised to find an extensive menu. The restaurant was very busy, obviously very popular with the locals. We found the service attentive and helpful, and the quality of the food was very good. We noticed that the locals seemed to be going for the assiettes complete, and next time we are in Cognac we shall do the same as these seemed to be very good value for money.
