"We booked , and looked forward to , our visit to Le Sud on Saturday evening . On entering , I felt immediately a certain distracted lack of warmth in our reception . After a certain amount of body-shuffling round the bookings register , we were duly noted , and shown to a table . Before the waiter escaped , I asked for a gin and tonic , and a Coca Col . The G&T arrived shortly , without ice or lemon , together with the Coke , which had both . In due course we ordered , both choosing a stuffed eggs on a Salsa starter , and the steak , medium . I ordered a glass of Chablis for my wife assuming it would come with her cold starter , but it was delivered very soon , so she was lining up drinks . Eventually the starter arrived , it proved a poor choice as it was of curiously lacking jin flavour. The room itself was quite cold . For some reason , the door had been left open , and it was a cold evening . I was amused to see the diner sitting nearest the door gradually vanishing into the thick sweater and scarf in which he had entered ,while looking increasingly miserable . Our starter plates remained unclear for some time , then we're very rapidly removed , and our main course immediately set before us . This was just sufficiently off-key to make one feel something had not gone right . My meal was just warm (cold plates ) my wife's less so . Not quite bad enough to send back , but enough to mar the pleasure . We ate the incomparable steaks , and their delicious accompaniments , then requested the door be closed , which it was . Puddings were OK , the last time my sponge was slightly burnt , this time perfect , but the deserts are lacklustre , do not excite the palate , and are frankly ordinary .We finished with a double express , and a decaf. The meal cost €110.80 , which my bank has translated as £81.74 . I am relieved we are enjoying a good rate of exchange just now , as otherwise I would have felt quite overcharged for what he had , instead of merely disappointed and a bit let down ."

A small restaurant with good service and a fresh menu. The food was excellent, if a little pricey. Definitely worth a visit, but you will need to book.

One of our best restaurant in our visit. The waiter knew perfect English which was very helpful. The presentation of the dishes and the taste were exellent. Full meal 38 euros each, no wine included. Ver carta

Great dinner, authentic food served beautifully. Chose a la carte, sushi and fois gras as starters, dorade and st jacques as main courses with a lovely rose and a bottle of water, €100 all up. Real quality, easy parking for those who are fed up with the local traffic!

We were really pleased to find Le Sud when we were staying in Golf Hotel Valescure and ended up eating there twice in a 3 night trip. It has a very interesting menu and the food is delicious. The wine list is reasonably priced (for the region) and the service is friendly, if a bit slow on a busy evening. Definitely recommended.

This is a very good restaurant, where we were well received and escorted to our pre-booked table for 19.30hrs. The introduction to the specials board was provided straight away and the wine list and menus provided just before the restaurant became busy.Excellent serving service was provided and we each had very good main courses and desserts. A good selection of wine was available and very acceptable. This is a very popular restaurant with excellent personal service and I would suggest booking ahead for a Saturday Evening.

Had looked forward to eating here again , and not disappointed . The restaurant is a rather plain building in a centre commercial . Quite a lot of concrete and glass . We were in the conservatory adjacent to the outdoor seating area , the room felt airy and spacious , tables well apart . Our fellow diners were amiable . The Patron was much in evidence , discussing the menus , and taking our order . The " carte " items are not individually priced , you elect to have a ( say ) €33 .
