"We had 4 set menus (starters+main course or main course+dessert) and 2 main courses, they ended up charging us for 5 main courses and 2 set menus ! Everyone makes mistakes and it was a busy night but it's pretty clear they do that on purpose. When i told them there was a mistake on the check, they got super grumpy and refunded me 6 euros. It's a real shame because my friends and I actually enjoyed the food and the waitresses were cool. It seems in Avignon it is common practice to confuse customers with unclear bills. (We had another experience where they overcharged us almost 40 euros). My advice ? Double check even triple check the bills and take notes of what you order."

Very enjoyable place. Food and service was good with a twist and loads of character: very French and somehow a little hipster. I'd go there again!

Nice restaurant in a side alley, close to Place de l'Horloge. They have a fixed-price menu with a selection of appetizers, main dishes and desserts. The vegetable tart, the duck confit and the rib steak were all very tasty, and the desserts as well.

Good value prix fixe dinner menu at 22€: I had artichoke salad, baked Camembert with chips and a delicious chocolate brownie with cream, ice cream and a peanut sauce. We sat outside in the narrow street, which was suitably atmospheric, and the service was friendly and efficient. Ver carta

hotel recommended..We.dined there twice..short menu but well cooked and presented food, served by young waitresses smiling even when rushed off their feet!My wife had duck breast in honey, I had filet of sea bass..both excellent, followed by a rich and yummy hot chocolate brownie with Chantilly cream ...Half litre red wine bill for 8 euros.

When I arrived in Avignon I had no real plans for dinner. The person at the hotel suggested Rue Galante for authentic French food....Tripadvisor came to the rescue from there. Ate outside...a great people watching restaurant and they provided 18 euros for plat and dessert....my husband had a fish entree that tasted great....our desserts were yummy. Definitely worth a stop

If you want really good food but not at tourist prices, go to Le Vintage in Avignon's old town. The lunch-time prix fixe has plenty of choice and is very good value for 3 courses, and they offer a good range of wines by the glass. You can sit out on the pavement but it was so hot when we went that we were glad to sit inside where it was cooler. Friendly staff and service was quick but not rushed. We recommend it. Ver carta

My wife and I were looking for something since our first option that we had researched closed for the afternoon. We stumbled upon this restaurant not really expecting much but were too hungry to be picky about it. Turns out it was one of the better meals we've had in France! €12 for an entree and plat. We got the cold beer soup and tomato with fresh mozzarella. Both very tasty and refreshing on this 34 degrees Celsius day. Then for our mains we had a pasta and the crispy lamb. Each were really good as well! Pleasantly surprised. Now just need everyone to know about this place..

We stumbled upon this place while looking for somewhere to eat lunch while on a short visit to Avignon . It turned out to be a nice surprise and what we would say a lucky find . Nice location not to far from the Palace but reasonably priced considering some of the other heavily crowded over priced places we saw on the main drag . We went with the 2 course meal costing €14 euro , exceedingly good value for the quality we had .As for wine we went local for about €7 a half litre , tasty and easy to drink ....maybe a little to easy as 2 more followed . In all great place friendly staff and tremendous value ...seek it out, its well worth it

"I'm a regular here, and I'm not the only one lol! This place is always packed, it's both a locals haunt and a place where well-advised tourists end up. I meet my friends here, I meet my colleagues here, I meet half the town here...And it draws out the locals every evening with good reasons! So, first off: Convenience. Just on the bank of the river, this place has it's own parking.Next, atmosphere: Clean shabby chic orientated decor, open central kitchen, usually pretty crowded, Italian chef.... This place has got the atmosphere where it should be for modern tasty Italian cuisine.Service: populated by hipster and punkette style waiters and waitresses, they might not be warm nor welcoming, but they polite and competent. The service is prompt and the wine suggestions correct.Food: my FAVOURITE part! I love Italian, and I just appreciate a place that does it right so much! Simple, clean, modern and tasty!Their pizzas are beyond a doubt the best in the region, special mention for the Bianca and the Cosi. Their pasta is mouth watering. But I always find the best on their menu to be their dish of the day (for example duck filet with apricots, tuna steak with Italian sauce, roast filet mignon...) and their veal schnitzel. In fact I am a regular to this place almost solely because of their veal schnitzel. Just gorgeous!Oh and their desserts.... Are just delicious, special mention for the raspberry-lemon-white chocolate parfait!Once again, this is not a budget eat-all-you-can low end pizzeria. The prices are midrange. But the cuisine is authentic and impeccable, the setting very pleasant, and it is definitely a place you will come back to after trying it once."
