"It is not easy to find a good Chinese restaurant in Munich, I would even argue, that it is difficult to do so in most of Germany. But one keeps on trying, although may be the easiest would be to be satisfied with the nice local, German dumplings!Anyway, attempt to find good dim sum at Ledu was not successful. We were there for lunch, one of only three tables to be occupiedon a Friday. The place seems to be quiet at lunchtime but our waiter told us that it is quite different for dinner. The restaurant itself is pleasant, with nice modern lamps and feeling more upmarket than the standard local Chinese restaurant. We tried a combination of fried dumplings, pork and beef, which for some reason are presented with pink and black skins, pork belly to be rolled with pancakes, aubergine in curry sauce and some rather spicy squid in a watery sauce. Beef dumplings were, in my view, particularly bad. The rest, pretty ordinary and resembling nothing of the Cantonese food we used to have in London. May be this is the real thing to be expected in a neighbour restaurant, but I honestly doubt it. For sure, our waiter was from Vietnam and probably the cook too...Actually, our waiter was very friendly. No complains about the service.I guess the Ledu happy dumplings in Schwabing belongs to me same people? It is some time since we visited but I definitely liked it much more than this one. Unfortunately, another failed attempt to find a good dim sum place in the area."
