"During a trip to Paris in September, we were pleased to learn that a friend was also visiting there. We joined her in the St. Germain neighbourhood and ate at Les Ambassades on her recommendation. I am doing this review several months after the fact and have little recall of the meal other than the frites were delicious, crispy, piping hot with a wonderful dipping sauce. What did stand out was the exemplary service from a cheeky waiter; the banter was a mix of French, Spanish and English, all of which he spoke with an obvious sense of humour. Our friend raved about the foie gras. When I asked the waiter if the Baba au Rhum actually contained real rum, he replied "of course, do you want a straw?" The dessert was proferred to me swimming in rum with a straw stuck into the cake! We enjoyed sitting on the sidewalk terrace; the restaurant was busy in the early evening but the service was prompt and food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Given our very pleasant experience at Les Ambassades, we would return any time."
