Very well-kept establishment, everyone listens to any requirement or expectation of the client. A magnificent view that accompanies an original and tasteful menu. Breakfast on the terrace or a coffee in the living room is perfect.

We spent two nights in this grand hotel in October. We had a room with fantastic views over the valley. The room was very well kept clean and with a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly. Parking can be complicated near the hotel, but there is paid parking about 200m away.

This is top-quality cooking, with an amazing view, but at a price. The all-in menu for 3 courses (starter, main, dessert) is €52 which is high. Half a bottle of cheapest white wine was €23, so it's an expensive meal for two people. I was slightly disappointed by the flavour of my foie gras, but the entrecot steak with sauce bordelais was excellent.

We came to two for lunch, and we spent a wonderful time. The setting, the view allows you to relax while admiring the landscape, the staff takes care of you, and the kitchen is absolutely delicious. We took the Rossini beef net turkey and it was just perfect. It was a time of great relaxation for me before I hit my season on the coast and I will come back! Good luck and good season for the whole team!

We knew we wanted to head to the best vantage point to watch the sun go down and boy we found it. The restaurants terrace was magnificent. The sun has gone down and so have a couple of aperitifs so it was time for dinner and boy this didn’t disappoint either. The food was excellent as was the service. Dogs were allowed into the restaurant which was a real added bonus. The ambience was very welcoming and relaxing with attentive but with non intrusive service. Will definitely return. Thank you.

A very nice discovery! We went there for the restaurant. The view is superb, the impeccable and friendly service, and the kitchen a true culinary moment of quality. We loved it. I was finally able to delight myself from a real foie gras with grilled duck... a delight. generous portions and subtly associated dishes. Everything was perfect from the beginning to the end. The boss and the waiters are charming. We will come back with pleasure, hoping to enjoy the terrace next time (a little fresh and too much wind when we come).

Hotel L'esplanade is an outstanding hotel. The location is fantastic, with a superb view overlooking the Dordogne River valley. The rooms were well appointed and well equipped. The service was impeccable Hotel L'explanade is a family run establishment, and everyone we met were very friendly and solicitous of our every need. The dinner we had at the hotel restaurant was one of the finest we have ever experienced – the surroundings were magical –a beautiful dining room with a spectacular view of the Dordogne River Valley, the service was flawless, and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a wonderful one night stay and would be delighted to visit there again.
