"I am fortunate enough to to work here, after a very sad time in my life I came up here and walked, sat pondered and to be honest shed a tear, I then asked if there was any seasonal part time work and got a job. Scenery is magnificent food is beautiful especially the Beef as it's from their own cattle and my colleagues and employers are second to none. I enjoy this new venture in my life.well worth a visit."

Had a great weekend here for a friends 50th, staff are great, food is fantastic and scenery and walks are amazing really couldn’t ask for a better location, 5stars from me

it is a place to blow away the Cob webs and have a walk with a wonderful view and then with a glass and a bite to eat. steaks are amazing, I can honestly say what I've ever had. Ver carta

A place to go to chill and unwind it has the most amazing view for you to relax and enjoy... The little gift shop is lovely and lady who works there is very friendly remembers who you are even from going months apart...

The restaurant has a stunning ambiance. Although it's not far from me, I love driving here for the scenery and delicious food. The steak literally melts in your mouth; it's always my go-to dish! The staff is welcoming and friendly. I can't wait to come back!

I had a great time today with my mom and sister at this restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I would recommend it to everyone. I am also considering coming back here to celebrate my birthday with either a camping or glamping experience. Ver carta

Just returned home from a 2 night stay in one of the camping pods. Was a lovely birthday/anniversary surprise booked by my husband. We've had the most excellent time and I really cannot recommend staying here enough! Did not want to leave this morning. Thank you for a wonderful experience and best birthday/anniversary ever!

This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. We visited for the first time in the summer and fell in love with it. I decided to book again for the February half-term with my two young children. Despite the snow, we were cozy in our small wooden booth and enjoyed every moment. Highly recommended, lovely location, and amazing staff.

"We arrived here for a 2 night stay for a wedding (Fri sat night). PROS: Lynsey the manageress she 100% makes it so fabulous. Lovely, welcoming, looked after us brilliantly. Due to some staff shortages, she was doing what seemed like 10 jobs at once! We ate on one of the nights food was delicious! Great service tasty food. Breakfast was also spot on set us up brilliantly for the day ahead on the Saturday! The Willow room which we stayed in was fab ideal size, lovely cosy too! The whole 2 night stay was extremely reasonably priced the place itself has a great feel about it like a big cosy house! CONS: If you like total darkness, take an eye mask for sleeping as the rooms can get really bright from the early hours. Also, depending on the room, it’s on quite a busy road so can be quite nosy it would be worth having earplugs if you like a quiet surrounding. Due to staffing, the bar doesn’t stay open that late, so be mindful of this, they will however put drinks in your room if you can’t make it back in time for the bar closing. Taxis there are no local taxis, so arranging transport to the wedding we were attending was a nightmare which we didn’t account for! Luckily after 6 different phone calls, we managed to get sorted. The only gripe I had was the confusion over the bill if you decide to charge things to your room, the bills aren’t itemised so it’s difficult to keep track of what has been charged. There was some confusion on checkout over what we should shouldn’t have been charged for, so definitely choose to pay for any extras outright to avoid any confusion or uncertainty before check out. Other than that, it was one of the nicest, most personal stays we’ve had out in a long long time. This was mainly down to the Manageress Lynsey who is fabulous at her job really does make it feel like home makes you feel super welcomed relaxed. Thank you lynsey for really making a stay a one to remember."

"we were in the opposite and the new inn was our local. Wednesday to Sunday, I thought the new inn could not be much or very special, as it was closed for the first two days of our visit. I was very wrong. at our first visit, the server could not be more helpful, we wanted to sit outside, but they asked us if we would rather sit on comfortable, even though we had a little dog that was more than welcome to sit under our table. the staff could not have been more attentive or friendly. the drinks came very fast, like eating. the new inn has its own pizza oven, you can simply wander and order a takeaway pizza! because we decided to sit, we could see that one of our partys pizza is cooked and prepared with care. the prices are reasonable, eating was generous in portions and all tasted good quality. our second visit meant that we had a separate server that was more than friendly again. none of our party is disappointed about both visits, different meal times and gloom all polished and service with smiles round, what more can they ask? Well done if we ever are in the opposite, we would definitely be very recommended to come back!"

"After a pleasant riverside walk from Boroughbridge on Sunday lunch 10th July we called in the Ship pub in Aldeborough on the off chance we could get a table for a Sunday roast, a pleasant friendly lad serving behind the bar managed to find us a table I can honestly say we were treated to the best roast beef dinner which was excellent in every way. To sum the Ship up,a friendly comfortable pub with professional helpful friendly staff thanks to all ! As Arnie said i,l be back Cheers Martyn Julie"
