L'osteria - Carta

Very good food in a quaint setting. We had a mushroom tagliatelle, a trofie pesto, a chicken and fried potatoes. All were very good.

We had a wonderful dinner here. Everything was excellent, particularly the truffle fettuccine, it was the best I’ve ever had! Service was friendly and efficient. Price was reasonable. I absolutely recommend this restaurant if you want to eat authentic Tuscan cuisine!

Come here if you want authentic Italian food that is tasty, affordable and has friendly service. Best pasta of my life I can not speak highly enough of the food. The atmosphere is lovely as most in Siena but this stands out in every way. Even if it’s out of your way come here for your own benefit! Ver carta

Abbiamo gradito moltissimo le tagliatelle ai funghi porcini: poco conditi per cui si sentiva appieno il sapore.Anche il vino, nonostante fosse sfuso, era veramente buono.Abbiamo sbagliato ad ordinare la tartare, sembrava banalissima carne macinata conservata sottovuoto, poco saporita, servita compatta e con la forma dell'involucro.

We walked into this restaurant on our way to the hotel and asked if we can get a table as everything was booked until much later that evening. They were very accommodating. We had a great dinner soup, porchini mushrooms (grilled and fried) and boiled potatoes with herbs. Service was fast, food was served piping hot and house wine was good.

everything was simply delicious. from the mains to the desserts, we absolutely enjoyed our lunch. a cozy and humble interior, the food was satisfyingly well made. i recommend trying all three porcini dishes tagliatelle with porcini, grilled porcini, and fried porcini. the deserts were so good too, we had the panna cotta con frutti di bosco and the creme caramel. Sept. 2021 ... Had a primi of something or other, then knocked my sox off with their Chinghale dolce e forte, wild boar sweet and strong. Reminiscent of Mexican mole its a complex fall stew with boar, vegetables, exotic spices, raisins, prunes, almonds, candied fruit and chocolate. Just WOW! Apparently its a traditional Tuscan dish that is disappearing as most restaurants in Siena do not serve it. Cant wait to get back there this fall.

This was our third visit to L'Osteria and our second on this trip. The first time we stopped in on a whim because they offered mushroom specials and I am a huge fan! We've eaten here twice for lunch and once for dinner. Except for the first time, we knew to make reservations. This is a very small family run restaurants. Other reviewers noted that the restaurant was empty, but couldn't get a seat. Please understand that when a table is reserved at L'Osteria, you have it for as long as you like. Although the restaurant may appear empty, they are simply holding tables until the parties arrive at their requested time. We tend to eat early and observed how tables filled quickly at later times. Prima di chiudere ufficialmente la nostra vacanza in terra toscana, ci sta ancora una tappa. Ci fermiamo una notte a Siena. Girovagando nel meraviglioso centro storico, ci addentriamo nella Contrada del Bruco e chiediamo un tavolo all'Osteria dei Rossi. Non abbiamo prenotato, ma molto gentilmente ci viene messo a disposizione uno dei tavoli posti nella via. Perfetto. Noi siamo in sei.Per cominciare un paio di bottiglie di acqua ed altrettante di Birra. Tra quelle proposte, scegliamo due bottiglie di Menabrea da Stasera niente vino, va così.Il giovanissimo e simpaticissimo cameriere ci avvisa che, fuori menù, sono presenti i porcini freschi. E cosa fai, non te lo fai portare un piatto di Porc... Ver carta
