We have a Lu Shan take away every time we visit family on the island and usually its great but unfortunately it was really disappointing tonight. Bland tasteless food with a really strange texture to the sauces, inedible chicken balls and chicken satay. Such a...shame, we have always enjoyed it in the past. Ver carta

During our vacation in the area, we decided to order takeout for the night. This restaurant was nearby, so we decided to give it a shot. It was quite pricey, and unfortunately, I found the house special curry to be bland and watery. Surprisingly, the curry sauce at the local fish and chip shop had better consistency and taste. I would definitely not return to this place.

Ordered a takeaway whilst staying locally on holiday. Found the prices were high compared to home but having reviewed some other menus it seems to just be an Isle of Wight thing. The main courses were very nice however the chips were very disappointing ..oven style crinkle cut and a small bag were almost The containers were also smaller than experienced elsewhere which made it feel even less value for money.

Like so many British small town Chinese takeaways this food was poor and nothing like real Chinese food. The sweet and sour pork was made using over cooked chewy fatty pork and was only meat rest being onions peppers etc. The chicken chow...mien was so so dry both noodles and chicken. The satay looked fried not grilled as it should be. Similarly the ribs looked fried and were not cooked with a coating. Again just dry and tasteless. The spring rolls were bought in frozen type both tiny and tasteless. Only in the various China towns in U.K. can you get a freshly properly cooked Chinese meal it seems. During our vacation in Bembridge, we had a delightful dinner at this restaurant. Instead of opting for one of the banquet options, we decided to try the special starters platter. The crispy duck served with pancakes and traditional accompaniments was delicious, especially the homemade hoisin sauce which had a spicy kick. We also enjoyed the Yung chow fried rice with ample chicken and prawns, along with chicken cashew nut and king prawn balls with sweet and sour prawns. Very disappointed to write this but having supported Lu Shan since their ownership we have become very disenchanted with the service. On many occasions we try to place an order by phone but it rings and rings with no answer. As a once fully functioning...restaurant we are disappointed that they no longer are open for eat in customers and suggest the reason is no staff. Sadly we find this hard to believe as local pubs have no less than party time staff on their payroll despite the recent issues of covid and Brexit. On further consideration their argument doesn’t hold water but rather points to mismanagement. Recently we tried to order takeaway and took the phone issues up directly with staff....
