"The best meal I have had in a very long time. Located in a small picturesque village not far from Uzes. From the outside, it looks like a run-down bar-cafe, but the food is incredible! I had the daily special of seiche (cuttlefish) and steamed...potatoes w aioli sauce. The seiche was as tender as salmon steak. The sauce gave a wonderful flavor. Paradise. Served cold (i.e. more or less room temperature) with a nice side salad (and scrumptious tasty bread). Apx euros and worth every centime. The other dishes were euros. My wife and daughter-in-law and her daughter all ordered shrimp in saffron sauce and loved it, Served with great pommes frites (they let me taste). My son ordered veal milanaise( served with an excellent tomato-based sauce and accompanied with al dente pasta. The veal itself was very tasty, which is not always the case these days. After this meal, no room for dessert, but my wife and I could not resist the creme caramel which is unbelievably onctuous and smooth. The others ordered a chocolate fondu cake of some sort, but the creme was so good that I didn't want to dilute the flavor by tasting the cake which they said was intensely chocolaty. In sum, very highly recommended. Food as good as anything I have had in the very elegant St Germain, my previous home. BTW, it was a lovely, cool August evening so we ate outside on a little tree-shaded square surrounded by lovely old stone architecture. If you like that sort of thing, leave time for a stroll around the village. PS -One of the rare occasions to order Jupiler on tap [beer] at a restaurant in this area. Served nice and cold."

"we ate here, without reservation, on Friday of the party, when few restaurants in uzès are at their best. we - four of us - have taken a surprisingly good meal, sitting outside at a slightly shaky table. we shared beautiful duck shinks and tapenade in the entrance, then we separated ourselves: salads, meats, fish - between us covering the main sections of the menu. all were really good, only cheating - in the case of my salad - being much too substantial. the wines were good and at very reasonable prices, the culminating point being a liverna aubaï mema 2006, recommended by one of the working but always smiling hosts, for only 21 €. We're planning to come back soon."

"one day of week in uzès, Thursday evening, few tables available in reservation. We pass by chance in front of the trattoria, no pizza on the map. If we don't have pizza, we'll eat pasta. Very good choice! a friendly and friendly welcome (without reservation, the boss has found us room for 5 on his charming terrace.) Tasty dishes, a very simple but succulent dessert (foundering perfectly mastered chocolate and his Mandarin ice ball.) a small flat, prices a little high. But it was a nice evening."

"Newly arrived in the region, we discovered the Old Café by hearing away from good music and excellent singer. The show on the terrace was first order and after taking a look at the map we decided to have dinner on site. The pleasure will have been as auditory as tasteful, on one side of the Joe Cocker followed by a Nino Ferrer, on the other a serious morito, a good local white wine, a beautiful coastline and real fish chips (net, not simili nuggets as too often). Too tired by a long road and honestly repused we did not test desserts, which gives us a good reason to come back. Update: back in November, the first impression is confirmed with Saint-Pierre, low-temperature cooking chicken and an excellent burger in our plates, all served with a smile. We'll be back with pleasure."

"one of our first days in uzès, we were wandering on the main road looking for a good place for lunch. the menu of the providedl drew our attention and the friendly owner on the sidewalk convinced us to try. happy we did. The food was delicious and the service was warm and friendly. it seems to be a family and popular establishment with the inhabitants. Of course, they were also very welcoming to tourists, but I am always happy to find a place that is not a tourist trap. We tried a salad, a slice of charcuterie, fried steaks and cod brandade, which is apparently a specialty of this region. It is a deliciously interesting concoction of potatoes and salted cod, with some parts of chorizo/pepperoni. It seemed a little strange but I'm so glad I tried it. It was absolutely delicious. I noticed that several other restaurants in the city serve him, and some even put him on a pizza. the version to the supplied was beautiful. The steak was also delicious. a note for Americans dining in france for the first time - they tend to serve their beef much more **** than we do in the United States, so if you ask it average, it will look more like medium-saignant. If it makes you disgust, be clear when you order and they will be happy to cook it according to your specifications. We chose rare medium, and it was certainly red inside! and delicious. We skipped dessert but took some good coffee. I would gladly go back and I would gladly recommend it to others."
