ate in the Friday midday, and our fish and chips were one of the best we had, perfectly cooked chips, not the fat endbits many places give them. may fail the service of leslie and jill, very friendly and. attentive, will come back.

only at the last order of this place we decided to give this place an attempt ordered pieces of kabeljau a large part of chips. the fish was so boiled over, it was rubbery the chips tasted as if they. boiled in over used fat several times again. I wouldn't even feed my dog. I only give him one I have to do to submit a review. Ver carta

I accept that over the past months or so the quality has been hit and miss and some visits weren't as good as pre-pandemic but...today was the best we have had in a while and has been getting better each visit. The staff is...welcoming and always friendly. If you haven't been in a while, now is the time to make a return visit.

Spent minutes to get a take away half way through they appear to have lost my order I must have repeated my order which was over three times as the members of staff seem to have the memory span of a goldfish !...We arrived at my mother in laws to find they still screwed up my order a piece of cold light. Tried ringing no reply they have lost my custom for good. It use to be a very good restaurant but since being taken over it is rubbish DO NOT GO THERE !

Totally rude staff. I arrived minutes before closing time and was told they don't cook after (they close at The reason being the cook doesn't get home if he works til I was asked why I looked at them like...that' after I'd been spoken to rudely! I was stunned to be spoken to in an extremely like that. The staff at the tills are helpful, but the cook just wanted to go home! Food was appalling!! Overcooked chips! decided to change from our usual chippy, travel a bit further and try this place so disappointed, the fish was to eat up to the point of dry and unpleasant after it broke through the dark brown dough. the chips were cold and we had the worst I've ever ordered. the customer service was a bit of “Shouty” though the pleasant things were exchanged when eating was handed over to me. the load was busy with many orders, so I doubt whether they would take care of bad reviews. will not return. Pity, we thought the name and the call would guarantee good food. unfortunately not.

We were a little concerned when on entering the restaurant we saw plates of food left on tables, they seemed almost untouched but we hadn't been back for months due to the pandemic and we were expecting the fish and chips that we'd been...accustomed to over the last years, we were wrong. The excessive battered and overcooked fish had dropped in size by half and this seemed to be supplemented by an enormous portion of dry chips that had obviously been around for some time! What happened to cook to order', what happened to standards, We were embarrassed for you. We would have paid more for the old standard fish and chips, raise prices, and do not lower standards, serve food that people want. J...

Please ignore the reference to Mother Kelly’s as this place appears to have changed hands and is nowhere near M K’s standards. We always make a post Christmas trip down to Porchester Castle and have bought fish and chips here for many years. This year...however, we were very disappointed. Although my fish was good (mainly because they had to cook it specially) my daughters fish was over cooked, my sons battered sausage had little batter on it and all our chips were undercooked and raw in the middle. We’d have taken them back if we hadn’t already left to eat them elsewhere. I suggest that Mother Kelly removes her name from this place very soon or this kind of review might affect her business...
