"I came to the maharaja in the Indernet and had planned it for my last trip to Hamburg. Interesting was for me as a lover of Indian cuisine that here is ayurvedic cooked, a novel for me. This makes the vegetarian dishes in this place the first choice. I visited the place at noon. It was striking that the place was equipped with Indian accessories until in detail, maybe it seemed a bit overloaded and cheesy, but it had its charm. I ordered Pakoras, who were on average, too dry. For drinking I chose a mango sailor and as the main dish Himalaya Kofta, vegetable cheese balls with lotus root and paneer, both excellent. The wort of the vegetable balls seemed a bit overloaded, nothing for regular enjoyment, but nevertheless very interesting. Operation was solid, competent, but in my opinion could have been a bit more present. Actually, I wanted to revise this place one day after, but the smell of Indian incense sticks on my clothes (that must be absolutely not! when leaving the place led to the distance I took from this idea. Conclusion: An exceptional Indian restaurant with the Ayurvedic addition that I will visit again during my next stay in Hamburg, then I hope with a little less esoteric!"

Discovered and very enthusiastic. Original, small Indian-style restaurant, very nice service. Food came fast and was mega tasty, not the typical all kinds. Several vegan dishes, marked in the map. Very recommended! Updated from previous review on 2023-07-15

Hello. I was there during a business trip. The food wasn't tasty. Service was very nice. Barkeeper and bartender have fought very loudly in front of the door. The worst disgusting thing was that there were mice everywhere in the restaurant. From then on we couldn't eat anymore. Did tell the cellar but he said that was normal here in the building because it was old. Disgusting. But in the end we would have to pay 55 euros for 2 people.

For lunch always very much. The All-you-can-eat buffet is really very delicious, the rice tastes good, the Puri bread, the salads, just everything. The buffet offers both meat and vegans enough to get rich. To do this, the service is still very friendly and fast and the interior is sometimes relaxed old-fashioned, easy to feel at ease. The prices are completely reasonable and you can only recommend to anyone to return with a proper hunger so that it can also taste something from any pot. We haven't tried the soup yet, but I don't doubt it's very good. Ver carta

The restaurant is decorated in beautiful Indian style. The chairs and tables are rather hard, but still it is cozy. On the map there are some vegan dishes. You should also get everything veganized, as understanding was a bit difficult, I prefer to stay with the declared vegan dishes. It was very delicious, the middle sharpness for me very pleasant. The highlight was the dessert. Bananas in coconut milk - much more than the title promises. The many waiters were very attentive, sometimes almost a bit intrusive, which involved ordering additional. But we were able to say no.

I was there with a friend. We had a table reserved and we were late for half an hour. They called before, so they let me know. It wasn't a problem. Since the weather was so nice we decided to sit outside and that was no problem. The choice of dishes is great and so it was not easy for both of us to decide. We were also offered advice, which we did not want, because the Indian cuisine is not foreign to us by staying abroad. My friend had ordered Papadam with Minzdip as an appetizer. We got that very fast and the dip was super delicious. As the main dish she had Chicken Vindaloo in medium sharp and I ordered Chicken Patiyala in sharp and Garlic Naan. The main dishes were also brought quite qui...

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
