"Made a reservation rather late and luckily managed to get in. We experienced a very pleasant and tasteful evening. Both inside and outside are well decorated, no cars in front of the terrace, just passing by pedestrians enjoying the waterside space. Inside a contemporary and well balanced decor but more important; the friendliness of the restaurant team makes you feel very welcome and at ease. So far the atmosphere, when we look at professionally and cuisine, both are at a very high yet approachable level. Food is well prepared, nicely presented and not over "worked". Very nice food, not overly crafted. Nice and tasteful. Small choice on the menu, enough to find something for all. The sommelier Sascha catered to our needs very well and followed up on the service of the wine perfectly. Not to fast nor to slow, ideal to keep enough in the glasses and keep the wine at a comfortable temperature. We received good advice on German wines in order to make our choice. We like to discover local producers when traveling. We certainly would return here when back in Cologne."

Great service and food, especially the veal. The 4 course meal was stunning. Now getting ready for the semifinal against Sweden!

Had a very good meal here. The food is imaginative and we'll - prepared and the service good too. It is very central and has pleasant views towards the river. However, I am surprised it has a star. Not that this should put anyone off. It is good value, apart from the cost of mineral water (€6 for 750ml).

My wife and I visited Köln recently and so enjoyed our first dinner here that we returned on our last night in the city to repeat our dining experience. This is a bright restaurant near the river; the staff are friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed. The food was excellent on both visits.

A great place for lunch ( or dinner ) with friends . Located at the river bank at a bit noisy boulevard . Choice of meals is excellent , worth it's price . I have choosen a hering as starter , and ox tongue for main dish . Both were tasty , nice served with interesting flavours . You may choose also a set menu - well composed 4 dishes . Choice of wine is very good , service is nice , quick and competent Ver carta

We ate here on two successive days (once for dinner and once for the four-course set lunch), in each case enjoying delicately prepared and beautifully presented dishes. The innovative combinations of flavours, sweet and sour tastes were a delight. Moreover, the breads served with the starters were as scrumptious as the tiny biscuits presented with the coffee at the end of the meal. The service was unfailingly friendly and attentive. We greatly look forward to our next visit.

Server speaks English well to explain menu in German.Price of each dish is a bit high for Germany (around 20 euro for starters and 25-29 euro for main dish) but you get high quality creative dish. No lunch menu available but they offer a 4-course menu for about 50 euro (good deal if you plan to get starter and main). I had pasta (ravioli) and Cod, and both were excellent.Tiramisu is a great bargain for only 3.50 euro and it is rich and excellent. Highly recommend it.Complimentary warm bread was also great. They do serve tap-water if you don't want to pay for water. Try it at least once while you are in Köln.

After trying to get a table for months, we finally succeeded to book one for a Tuesday evening. Unfortunately even if the food was good, the service was not even mediocre.. Between 30 and 45 minutes between the plates and we received our dessert 20 minutes after receiving our accompanying wine (which was either warm or empty at that time....). The cherry on top is that as the waiter did not accept our feedback at all but said that it was normal to wait so long and that we shall say it if we are in a rush... Is 4 hours a rush??? To summarize, there are way better restaurants in Köln, you can definitely skip maiBeck and his disastrous service.. Too bad for the good food. Ver carta

Do not miss this proper foodie restaurant located on the Rhine and a short walk from the cathedral. We found out about it in the Michelin guide and called in during the afternoon to make a reservation for that evening, they were full , however they suggested we called in after 8.30pm and a table may have been vacated by an early diner , we did and just one perfect table was available in the window ! The service here is perfect with all the staff very well trained and enthusiastic. The food is just as good , a very creative menu by chefs who obviously love being adventurous, we had a hot feta dish , trout , cold medium rare beef , mountain cheese ravioli and apple tart , all dishes were perfe...

Sitting outside, overlooking the Rhine, on a warm evening was a delight. The food at Maibeck is excellent. Fine cuisine to savour. Service often makes a meal. The waiters were very friendly and helpful but we must have had six different staff wait on us. No consistency, no way for them to build on a relationship with the client, know what wine or food we had chosen and thus what to recommend. At the end of the meal the ?sixth waiter took the money and that was that. When we left there was no "thank you for coming, i hope you enjoyed your meal" etc. No good-byes at all.A shame because the restaurant cares deeply about the food, its preparation and presentation. A little thought about service w...

"In a 5-day stay in Cologne and as a lover of Indian cuisine, we had planned the Ginti. The visit took place on Monday to the beginning of noon. The reception was very friendly and cordial by the Lord of the House. The decor in Ginti is very modern, stylish, but also somewhat sterile and only very discreet supplements with Indian accessories. Young guests will probably find favors in the style of the institution. The place was still empty and so there was a chance to get a brief conversation with the mistress of the house. She brought us the menus, and there were Papadam with three from a culinary point of view pretty boring finished dives. We chose both a mango sauce as a drink that was thin and most likely prepared on the basis of a mango powder. Disgusting! I ordered as main dish Malai Kofta, vegetable balls in a mild curry sauce with ginger, garlic, almonds and coconut. This is not only one of my favorite Indian dishes, but it is also a dish that places higher requirements on a kitchen and therefore cannot be found in any Indian restaurant on the menu. In addition, quality and freshness can be well valued with this bowl. I ordered this dish with a higher sharpness, but not through the sauce, but ultimately through the vegetable balls themselves. The latter were produced excellently and their loose inner composition had the freshness of the preparation felt. This was undoubtedly a 5-star court. My accompaniment had opted for Tandoori King Prawn Masala, marinated royal cloves from Tandoor in a sauce with tomatoes, cashew nuts and raisins. This dish was also very tasty, rather mild and very generous in the number of shrimps. The rice was served unfavorably on an open bowl and had to measure any fragrance and aroma that could originate from cardamom capsules or spice cloves. After the main dishes were convinced, we were curious about the Indian ice cream, Kulfi. This came visually well over a carrot cut into slices, but could not be along tasteful. It was crystallized, little creamy and the aromas of the aforementioned mango powder were reappeared. Conclusion: a highly recommended Indian restaurant due to the excellent main dishes, but not yet matured in its culinary periphery. Therefore, provisionally three stars with an inclination to four."
