"Very disappointing, The first visit we were told it would be a 30min wait. Which we agreed was fine. 40 mins later still no meals. 1 hour later still no meals.. People were coming in after us and ordering hot food and were being served before us! We were waiting for two children’s meals! And the restaurant was almost empty. Would hate to think how long you’d have to wait if it was busy. We asked for a refund and left. 2nd Visit today was absolutely foul! Ordered hunters chicken chips and peas. And a mixed grill! The chicken was so dry and hard. And the BBQ sauce was a hard crust on top. I pulled the chicken apart as it was so hard and cold. And the chicken absolutely stunk! You could smell the bacteria! It was putrid! The chips were dry and hard. The garden peas were shrivelled and crinkled FOUL DISGUSTING SLOPS! I spoke with the Manager and asked if she would eat the plate of food I was served! Her answer was NO! And couldn’t bring herself to even smell the chicken! The Mixed grill was swimming in oil! Mushrooms were oozing in oil, And food was cold The manager asked the chef if the plates of food we received was Upto standard His reply was “The mushrooms sit in water! And the food was warm! I mean WTF? Anyway please DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME IN THE MASH AND BARREL The Floor and tables are sticky! The toilets are foul! It needs a deep Clean! Fumigating as everything was sticky and grubby! Mash and Barrel I feel my comments are justified as i only speak the truth! Management get yourself sorted out! It’s a complete debacle! Shame as a few years ago it was a lovely place but sadly when you don’t have professionalism this is what happens to an establishment "

Don’t, just DO NOT ORDER FOOD! Green burger, brown coleslaw, 10 cold chips. Complaints about the food were coming in from every table.

Really tasty food and good service. Barbacoa Burger was nice and fish and chips were a good portion. We have been to multiple havens and this mash and barrel is the best one I’ve been to so far.

Although busy unfortunately the vegetables hadn't been don't properly with the other leavers of the cabbage that were black abd brown were mixed in. We couldn't cut the potato's, other veg was dry and the sauces were slung everywhere. The turkey was not nice either

I Dont understand this is a holiday resort and food was bad when i complained they didnt seem to care 28quid 2 meals 2 drinks 13.50 I had Steak and chips My dad had pie mash potato and brocoli pie was uneatable and staff didnst seem to care and did not replace i would not eat here again Ver carta

Poor quality, and lack of food, We had a meal here on the Saturday the food was what you would expect in an on site holiday park standard pub grub The sunday roast however well dont waste your money 3 potatoes which i kid you not were no bigger than a £1 in diametre, Turkey was dry and looked over cooked it was that fry The best part was the vegetables

Although we had eaten in there before the food was ok but today we had the Sunday roast omg it was very disappointing the roast potatoes were rank they were hard, uncooked looking partner bit into his and it tasted off mine was just hard couldn't even get my knife in it the meat was ok but cold, you get veg which again ok to eat the best thing was the mash tells you something when the best thing on the plate was mash lol never again is all u can say

Food quality bad Food portions terrible Will never eat in mash and barrel again Over priced ,waited 45 minutes even though had a pre booked table ,waitress did her best but didn’t even know what was supposed to be on certain dishes. Items missing from food e.g. gammon missing from mixed grill when it was bought separately after complaint it was an over cooked rasher of bacon not a 4 oz steak as description on menus. When complaints made to manager she tried to help by offering free deserts but the the options chosen were not available so we had ice cream on the house As stated before never again Ver carta

Whilst on holiday at Caister-On-Sea, Haven, we visited the Mash Barel for breakfast then after the great service we had from Laura behind the bar, we decided to go back again later that day for a late dinner. Once again Laura was so very helpful, she liaised with my daughter and made her feel very special. She was attentive to our needs, very informative and knowledgeable about the products and the park itself, and most importantly treated us with the utmost respect and friendship. I wanted to say a huge thank you to her for making the last day of our holiday so great, just wish we had met her before so the whole holiday would’ve been even more impressive than it already was. Thank you

I have mixed reviews about the mash barrel as I have to haven here around 15 times in the past year and a half. Absolutely could not fault this restaurant until 2 weeks ago, their service was always impeccable and so friendly. The food was always delicious! Since about 2 weeks ago sometimes when we go, the wait time is a while, ranging from 30-60 minutes, however yesterday we got our breakfast within 15 minutes? The food is ok, nothing spectacular but it’s nice otherwise I wouldn’t keep going back. 2 members of staff have been rude in the whole time me and my family have been going there which is about a year and a half! And we go 2-3 times a day! I think overall the mash barrel is doing oka...

"An exceptionally unique dining experience! Our holiday companion booked Pamela’s for dinner and we were unsure of what to expect, however we were assured of good quality food and a great experience and we certainly were not disappointed. Upon arrival we were shown to a table in the lounge, provided with the menus and ordered drinks. Service is exceptionally professional and friendly from arrival to departure. The decor is most unique and very fun to take in. The upstairs dining room is more casual and I loved watching the chefs in the open kitchen. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. Our vegetarian diner was slightly limited for choice and there was a blip with the main course, however it was handled and recovered very well (we were unaware when booking, however we have now been advised to phone ahead a minimum of 24-hours and special meal arrangements can be made in advance for vegetarian meals). The fish cakes and miso Salmon were very delicious and cooked to perfection. The duck legs had crispy skin, moist meat and a tasty accompanying Orzo pasta. All in all I would thoroughly recommend Pamela’s for a delicious meal with 5* service. Vegetarian options: Recommended to advise the restaurant a minimum of 24-hours in advance. There were 2 starters and 1 main course (featuring pasta on all dishes) on the a la carte menu, however if you call in advance then arrangements can be made."

"I would love for this review to be a 5 but unfortunately, I am unable to do that. Upon booking the table over a week before our visit I was told that the table would be ours for the evening because we were a large group. We were asked to pay a £10 deposit per person this was absolutely fine and we all paid well in advance. The table was booked for a hen/birthday party so we were all looking forward to a nice meal before heading out for the rest of the night. Unfortunately though, this didn’t happen. I had originally booked the table for 7:30pm, however on the day of the booking it was obvious to us that getting there for that time was going to be a struggle so I rang the restaurant and ask if it was okay for us to arrive for 8pm instead. The woman on the phone said this was absolutely fine and actually thanked me for letting them know well in advance. We all arrived just after 8pm (11 of us in total and were seated quickly. This is where everything began to go downhill… it was at least 10 20 minutes before our drinks order was taken and then a further 20 minutes before the waitress took our food order. A couple of people in our party ordered 2 4 1 cocktails and after waiting a further 20 minutes after everyone else’s drinks arrived the waitress came to tell us that they were waiting for the ingredients as the cocktails were coming from the bar next door. So by this time it’s about 9pm and the cocktails still haven’t arrived. So we asked the waitress where the drinks were and shortly after the cocktails arrived We did complain about this and was told that because of the long wait, the price of the cocktails would be taken off of the bill. I don’t think this would’ve happened though if we hadn’t made a fuss about how long it took. That was just the start… Finally after around 75 minutes of waiting, our starters finally arrive which tasted lovely. We then waited a further 30 minutes before we had to ask where our mains were and the waitress went to check. It’s now 10pm and we’ve been in the restaurant 2 hours! The waitress comes back and says it’ll be another 10 minutes. We all then collectively decided that we were going to leave it as we’d already missed another reservation we had and we were on a Hen Do! We were meant to be having dinner and going on a night out we’d had enough! A few minutes later, the waitress comes out and tells us (conveniently our food was ready; But by this time we were fed up and had decided to leave. Shortly after we told the waitress, “sorry, no thank you, we’re fed up” the owner(? comes out from the kitchen and demands we stay to eat the food. We apologise and explain that we’ve been waiting over two hours and we have decided we want to leave and as we had previously explained to the waitress that we had other plans for the evening. The woman then starts shouting at us and accusing us of being over an hour late to our reservation and demands the waitress gets the order receipt to prove herself right! When we said that this doesn’t prove anything because the waitress took ages to even take our order and that I had called to tell them we wanted to move our reservation to 8pm, she then says that we hadn’t paid our deposit and we couldn’t leave! She then was just arguing with different members of our party until we all just got up and left. We wasn’t rude to anyone and we just wanted a nice meal that wasn’t going to take an entire evening to arrive. They knew it was a hen party and that we were planning to be out afterwards and they just took the mick. Throughout the two hours there, we were polite and respectful the restaurant was so deadly quiet I don’t think anyone wanted to disturb anyone. The atmosphere was completely dead and felt awkward. So we all left the restaurant, hungry, disappointed and annoyed at the treatment we had received. It ruined the beginning of a night we had planned for 9 months and it’s just not okay. To be honest, if they had apologised and treated us differently, we probably would’ve stayed and enjoyed the food. If the restaurant cannot handle large bookings, they shouldn’t accept them. The Lek Thai lost a lot of money that night."
