Melbourne Hall Tea Rooms

We've not been for a long while but had a wonderful lunch there yesterday. A lovely welcoming tearoom, excellent food, will definitely be visiting again very soon!

Delicious food and a warm welcome . The tea rooms are outside the Melbourne Hall Gardens, so you can pay a visit whether or not you are visiting the gardens. Toilet facilities near by .

I was disappointed that once again we had to wait outside in the cold only to be told that the restaurant was full. I don't think I will be returning. This used to be a nice place to visit, but I am not happy about having to wait outside. Ver carta

Stayed at Melbourne Hall with Download Festival Rock Retreat for 4 days. Went to the Tea Rooms for breakfast every day. The food was delicious and covered GF really well. The staff were delightful and welcoming. So glad they opened early very day to feed us before our festival days out. We were so thankful.

My daughter and i decided to have afternoon tea whilst shopping in Melburne. Great anticipation whilst looking at the different individual outlets on the way to the cafe. Sadly the outside really did not appeal, not enough tables, lack of passion to who it looks, needs more flowers etc The scones and tea was okay Could do better to entice more afternoon tea people

The Christmas dinner for the Breedon Women's Institute was a delightful experience. The restaurant was warm and inviting, decorated for the festive season. The room was beautifully set up and the food was excellent, served by attentive and friendly staff who were willing to go above and beyond to make our evening special. I have been dining at this restaurant for many years, ever since my children were young. My son is now studying at Loughborough University and I sometimes bring him and my daughter when I visit. During my recent visit, we enjoyed delicious soup, cakes, and tea. We also brought our dog along, who was kindly given a biscuit. This restaurant holds a special place in our hearts and we always enjoy our time here.

I was visiting my family in South Derbyshire and had come to Melbourne for a walk and a cuppa. We decided to have a light lunch option and opted for the Buck Rarebit. This was a traditional rarebit with a poached egg on top and served with a side salad. The rarebit was delicous with a hint of mustard. Very tasty and served promptly with a smile. We returned the next day for cake as we hadn't managed it previously and I had chocolate cake and my partner had bakewell blondie. We found the service on both days to be friendly and attentive, food was well presented and served fairly quickly and seemed to be well organised.

As the door sign instructed, we waited (for some while) outside (in the cold) There was a dog water bowl (upended) by the queue here sign, which usually indicates some degree of welcome for our 4 legged friends. When a waitress finally came we were told (although the tables inside were less than half occupied) we were not welcome inside with a dog, but we could to sit outside. It was cold and damp but we were hungry after a long walk, so we decided to sit outside. Well, the tables and chairs were filthy.
