"We travelled from Doncaster to visit my brother for New Year's Eve. We were looking for somewhere go for an early evening meal and managed to get a table mid afternoon at this lovely pub. What a find. We all went for the beef roast dinner and from the presentation to the staff serving ourselves was amazing. The meat, yorkshire puddings and roasties were all served on a platter and the array of vegetable selection just kept on coming to the table. It was a pleasure to have proper home cooked food, which is a rarity these days. Unfortunately, we had full bellies and could not manage a sweet, maybe next time we are over. Thankyou to all the staff that served us. It was a lovely few hours spent in such a warm and welcoming pub. Pity that we don't live nearer"

"I wanted to look at this place, and today we finally left. it wasn't disappointed. everything they served us was delicious. I don't even like mince sauce, but it was my favorite under the sauce in our starter. we ordered two foods, one from the street and one from the main menu and shared it. because of the part, they will not be too full and they will get to try more variety in food. I think a job is good for sharing two people. I highly recommend this restaurant and will return definitiw!"

"what a sound! our first time here and we will definitely come back! we have booked a table.(It was busy! . it was in the garden room restaurant that was upstairs and super pretty with this beautiful faux blossom tree and twinkly lighter in the deck. there they also called longhorn, which was down but cannot comment on the equipment! they have a great choice of drinks and eating was wonderful. I had the sirloin steak and the confit of garlic was that he had the pit burger my eating partner loved so chips were fantastic! the service was great, very friendly and attentive. had a really nice time and will definitely be back, can not wait to try the pizza they saw yummy!"

"What can i say the food was excellent with plenty of it, cooked to perfection. Hats off to the chef they did a sterling job. However, when i visited there wasn't a great choice of beers on draught. I was only able to pick a pint of lager because that's all they had, poor really for a public house. You had to order your drink at the table rather that at the bar , which i thought was rather strange.If they stocked a few more beers then they could tap into the late evening drinks market which is thriving in Repton but perhaps they don't want too. By 9pm the pub was like a ghost town. Everyone who had been eating had moved on to other drinking establishments or had gone home due to the poor atmosphere. The decor was also a bit tired and slightly drab.If they redecorated the interior of the inn and offered a few more draught beers, i'm sure this place would go from strength to strength. That said the food made up for the negative points i have outlined. I would have no problem recommending this establishment if you wanted to sit down and have a good meal, you won't regret it. Give it a try and see what you think? Make sure you book in advance because if you just turn up your likely to be turned away. Sadly that happened to some poor chap who strolled in and took pot luck."

"We had a table booked for 6pm 8/7/23) to celebrate my sons birthday, 2.5 hours after placing our order I asked a member of staff if they’d actually placed our order as we’re still waiting! We were finally served our food 3 hrs later, the waiter eventually turned up to hand our plates which were presented dirty!! despite his desperate attempts to clean the plates with a napkin we eventually had to request new/clean tableware! When we finally came to settling the hand written bill the costing did not add up! We’d been charged almost £15 more than the items listed!! Sadly to conclude our visit my son who may I add is a cancer patient accidentally left his cap at the restaurant, I appreciate this is his negligence) but once we realised I contacted the Bilash to be advised that there was no cap at the end of the evening! Even though my son could advise staff of exactly where he left it! There is absolutely no way that any other party could have been placed at our table that evening as we didn’t leave until nearing close, due to the extremely poor service so I can only conclude that either the £150 cap) was taken by staff or that the area was not cleaned between shifts! Either way, poor service and an extremely untrustworthy company!! Avoid.. if you insist on going be prepared to wait and check your bill!!!!!"
