Mother Hubbard's - Carta

£12.50 for haddock and chips! Never again, not many people in shop or waiting, am not surprised, how can a family afford it? Not even tasty.

Went on Friday night, I had skate and chips and my wife has scampi, absolutely excellent. Always been a fan of fish and chips and I don’t know of anywhere better.

We ordered a delivery and it was vile..cold congealed and missing items..fish was dry greasy and unedible we called up.and for told sorry we can't do anything maybe a discount next time....no thanks !

I've never known such a hit and miss place as Mother Hubbard's! Sometimes they are great but most of the time the food is awful. Yet again last night's fish and chips were inedible. Both the fish and the chips were very overcooked and hard....

I've just moved to Swaffham and my family and I had a lazy Saturday night of fish and chips, Mother Hubbards were fantastic. The service was great and the portions were massive, although we did manage to trough the lot! Beautiful fish and perfectly cooked... Ver carta

Visited today on Thursday 7th ' 1.10pm. Now frying new potatoes ' said sign outside the business. They may have been new once upon a time. Disgraceful tasting, appearance wise and a jumbled up mess greeted the unwrapping of the chips. Utter waste of money. How any self respecting owner and staff feel the need to serve this utter rubbish is unbelievable. Wake up and judge yourselves. Avoid.

We’ve just had the best fish chips ever I can’t recommend this fish shop/cafe highly enough Fish was so fresh it was cooked to perfection chips were amazing service was brilliant portions were generous There is a varied menu I had cod whilst my husband had plaice both were fantastic The cafe part is small we were lucky enough to get a table but if it’s full it really is worth going back later It was our first visit but will definitely return next time we’re in Swaffham

The quality of the food was good. A decent sized piece of fresh and well-cooked haddock in a light crispy batter accompanied by slightly crispy chips certainly hit the spot. A bonus was being able to eat inside on a cold and wet night. I felt it was a bit expensive at £12.75 for a large haddock and half portion of chips. Worse still, the half portion of chips was charged at threequarters the price of a normal portion. I heard the staff discuss this but they didn't say it to my face. Very disappointing. It lost them my business on the other 3 nights I had F&C in Swaffham. Ver carta
