"We have visited a few times over the summer including some evening drinks in the pretty beer garden with super countryside views as well an evening meal and a Sunday lunch. The evening meal provided a good choice of hearty pub food. We particularly enjoyed the pie which had been cooked as one large one in a tray and cut up. So tasty! The Sunday lunch was a choice of two roasted meats (as well as a veggie option) which came with proper stuffing, a great choice of vegetables and some good roasties. There were also a couple of other main options other than the roasts. We were so full we couldn't take advantage of one of the deserts which looked good on other tables. Would recommend for a good priced, hearty, home cooked meal with a range of meal choices. Thank you"

Spent a few days staying in Kilmington and had a few evening walks up to the New Inn for a drink or two. Friendly service, nice garden. Would definitely visit again.

Bust pub with a warm atmosphere Excellent Palmers beers. Great home cooked food. Steak and kidney pudding like my mother in law used to make. You won't come away hungry

This is a quintessential country pub, not far from the main road between Axminster and Honiton, the landlord was helpful and friendly and the beer (Palmers) and food was excellent and served promptly, I will return I'm sure.

A great evening all round. Could not fault anything. The welcome set the scene for a great experience. Food was wonderful, good quality, home cooked. The beer and cider was delicious. We will be back and would recommend a visit if in the area. Thank you. Ver carta

Found this pub on our way on our way home, was immediately greeted and told to find a table and our food and drinks order would be taken. Extensive menu with something for everyone, including offering smaller portions if required and a specials board. Service was great and when food arrived it was excellent quality, good portions and not overpriced. We were asked twice (I think by the owners) if everything was okay. Will certainly visit again when in the area.

We booked a table and the skittle alley as part of our post wedding celebrations. The staff at the new inn were fantastic, not only did they let us bring along our own wedding cakes but they put them in the fridge and then brought us plates to serve it. Not many places would allow you to serve your own dessert! They were all friendly and so kind. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere, good food and the skittle alley was good fun, it was free to book for the afternoon and drinks were brought to the alley for us. We will most definitely be back. Thank you to the new inn for making our celebrations complete.

Traditional village pub with a real heart and soul. New owners took over at the end of last year and oh boy. What a good job they are doing. Very clean and fresh, very well presented, friendly staff, smiling service but most of all a genuine warm welcome by ‘Mine Host’. A group of us had supper on Saturday night and the food was clearly home-cooked with very generous portions and a good selection to cater for every taste, including gluten-free. Very reasonably priced and all in all a very pleasant experience. I’m not surprised it was full! So nice to see some young people with a Saturday job, it will stand them in such good stead for the rest of their lives. Well done. Ver carta

Decided to travel all of 13 miles ! to visit Vikki and Spike who used to run The White lion, Broadwindsor but now run The New Inn. Not surprisingly they have taken their professional attitude combined with their business accumen and wide ranging menu and specials board and made the pub a place to visit and meet the locals with whome they seem to have blended well. I could tell you that the food is upto Vikki's usual high standard and the banter from Spike has not changed ! (still waiting for The Beatles music Spike) But that would be a waste of 2 lines of typing by me and 2 lines of reading by you, whoops make that 3 lines. Along with Skittles and Cribbage over the winter I think the future...

For 15 of us including 2 little ones, we can only praise the team for which nothing was too much trouble. Service from Ed Abi was outstanding, the attentiveness of Spike delicious food from Vikki co in the kitchen made for a memorable evening had by everyone, including the very reasonable prices charged for food. Serving the children first, the little name tags on the orders which was genius, the extras offered without being asked was a rariety nowadays overall showed how 'kindness ' good service can hugely affect the first impressions of a business. We all thoroughly enjoyed Saturday evening. Please keep up the good work we will happily recommend you to anyone everyone travelling through th...

"We had two dinners and breakfast from this restaurant because we stayed in the Home Farm Hotel. We wanted to have the dinner and breakfast during our stay, but had to cancel our plans due to VERY POOR customer service received from Richard and also...because of his wife's cooking due to overcooked and burned full cook breakfast we received from the restaurant. Day 1, Richard introduced his wife to us, but she totally ignored us and in addition, she did not even bother to acknowledged and smiled with us. She seems to be very upset or very distance from everything or stressed/fed up about something at the time. Not sure this was due to over working… Day 1, Richard requested us to come down stairs for the dinner at 18:00, but instead of taking us to the restaurant for dinner, he tried his best to hard sell the alcohols he had in the bar to us and also to all the other guests. This happened even after we told him several times that we only want the meal and no alcohol from his bar. After about two hours, I had to tell him that I’m a diabetic and heart patient therefore I do really want to eat the meal and have a rest. He gave us the menu and I asked for lamb which was on the menu and he went crazy and said to us that they do not provide English food in this restaurant. I showed him what was on the menu, but he did not even apologise to us. He said lamb run out and asked us to select something else from the menu, again we selected duck, but that was run out as well!!! By then, Richard was sarcastic and rude to us as well as to other guests… In the end, we asked what we can have for our dinner. He almost shouted at us saying he and his wife only there to run the hotel without any staff therefore, we have to eat whatever his wife can cook!!! Finally, at about 21:00, we managed to have our dinner and I asked Richard to cancel our breakfast and dinner booking for the rest of the days however, he said we have to take the breakfast for next day because it was too late to cancel it. Next morning (Day 2), we were near the restaurant since 08:00 as Richard requested but as usual, past 09:00 we received burnt and overcooked full breakfast for two of us. They had a very large menu but it seems like most of the food either his wife did not know how to cook or had run out. Richard charged full price for our meals, BUT he FORGOT to provide the good quality food and services to the customers…"
