"Given the transient nature of eating establishments I cannot see Cafe 33 being a mainstay of Stockbridge. There are loads of cozy, homely places to eat in this part of town and Cafe 33 sure ain't one of them. I only went in here because my cousin was being problematic and I wanted to sit down for a minute. When I got in the first thing that struck me was the absolute, stone cold S I L E N C E which was utterly deafening. There was one other customer a middle aged woman who just sat alone at a table and stared dead ahead without blinking. It was so uncomfortable. I ordered a hot chocolate but was served a cold/lukewarm chocolate that was gone in three gulps. Bargain for £4. The indifferent woman serving, who had no warmth or cheer to her at all, seemed to be quite busy making an aggravating racket loading and unloading the dishwasher. Here's a priceless tip keep that sort of thing behind the scenes. Customers don't want to be disturbed with that noise. I couldn't get out of there fast enough."

Reasonable place to stop for coffee and a breakfast snack basic but fits the need and good to see it’s surviving!

A good place for lunch. Coffee is good and the wrap is beyond the expectation. Took away a salted caramel brownie which is good as well.

The restaurant has a welcoming staff, delicious food, and coffee. It's rare to find a place in Edinburgh that is both dog-friendly and has WiFi. It's a preferred spot to take a break.

Perfect place for a cup of coffee and slice of cake. Coffee, a Williams Johnson coffee (locally roasted) was exceptionally nice while my children enjoyed a hearty slide of the raspberry and white chocolate cake...i didn't get a look in!

The staff is fantastic, the ambiance is lovely, and the food is great. This is my favorite spot in Stockbridge because the Italian manager is delightful. Unlike some cafes in Stockbridge, they don't treat WiFi like it's a strange obsession. Plus, they are dog-friendly.

Stockbridge is spoiled for choice when it comes to cafes. No. 33 is easy to pass by it does not look like much from the outside. However, they do know their coffee, have delicious cakes, and a nice selection of flatbread sandwiches. The mood is friendly and non hipster in a good way.

During our walk, we decided to stop at this restaurant for lunch. We tried the halloumi flatbreads, which were toasted and filled with a generous amount of fresh salad. The coffee was also excellent. It's easy to overlook small cafes like this, but this one is definitely worth a visit.

Such a hidden gem in the middle of Stockbridge. Fresh sandwiches and flatbreads prepared daily in their main deli in Henderson Row (just around the corner). They use Williams and Johnson beans, which are roasted locally in leith. Tunes are great and staff is super helpful. #supportlocal

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
