"Whilst I’m sure the food is nice, I didn’t get as far as trying it. My first and only experience was when I popped in to ask about Christmas lunches. Having just had this Christmas, I was naturally thinking ahead to our plans next year looking into one of their take away dinners, as a way of making our Christmas day run a bit smoother. I’m not quite sure what made the chef (owner? quite so cross. I could hear him loudly telling the waitress (to pass on to me : “I ain’t even thinking about Christmas. Don’t know if we’re even doing it again but I ain’t talking about it”. Loudly saying this, when I was stood right there yet not making eye contact with me. It made me feel so small and stupid for asking about it. I came away feeling like I never want to eat there, don’t want to recommend it and that the customer service is somewhat lacking. Make people feel like valued customers, it’s so easy. If you’re cross with your potential customers for even enquiring before they’ve experienced your food, something isn’t right. I was just asking a question about a service the cafe offers. I’ve since read through some Google reviews, the worst rated all complain about the owner being aggressive/ rude… Edited after owner’s response: You’re right, how dare I pop in when I was passing (I’m not often in the area! and when you had customers. Wishing you your woeful customer service a prosperous year."

"Service was great especially as the restaurant was very busy. The staff were attentive and helpful however with regards to my steak I was not impressed at all. Two of us ordered the Sirloin steak which wasn't cheap so I was expecting a nice tender steak but mine had a serious amount of gristle which was obviously left on my plate and even the waiter noticed this and asked if everything was ok which obviously I said not really, also although the steak was tasty it was pretty chewy again not something you expect from a 30 day aged steak. It comes with fries which were very nice but no salad just an inch square dollop of cress of some kind, surely a small salad wouldn’t go a miss with the price of this meal? Wish I had taken a photo of this meal so show that this review is a fair comment and not exaggerated. Can’t fault the staff and it was only my meal that was very disappointing ."

"Private small function for my little one's 1st birthday. Exceptional service the buffet picnic was quality fresh. The blueberry chocolate cake was divine!! The setting was beautiful for the children to play have the buffet as a little picnic on the lawn. Plenty of shade umbrellas as it was quite a hot day! We will definitely be visiting would book this venue again for future events! Thank you Karen the team x"

"Found this gorgeous little place whilst heading home after a long weekend away and what a way to end our trip. Parked in the car park behind and immediately discovered the Tranquility Garden. Unfortunately it wasn 't quite warm enough to sit outside otherwise I 'd have taken full advantage of the beautiful furniture and atmosphere. Inside is a wonderful array of little nooks and crannies to suit your needs. As a Scot I was pleased to find a good selection of Scotch Whiskies behind the bar. We decided to have lunch in the bar rather than the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our ham, eggs, chips and chutney. Feeling comfortably sleepy after our main course, we retired to the lovely squishy sofas for dessert and a pot of tea/coffee, where we spent a good wee while just chilling. Hubby has promised he 'll take me back to stay next time. Can 't wait! PS. Gents, you are provided with a little bit of titillation in the 'facilities '; Ladies, I 've been assured that we will also be catered for in the near future!!!"

"We had a works xmas meal here on 2nd dec. The pub was so warm and welcoming with a real festive feel to it. The tree, decorations and tables looked so pretty. Tne food was fantastic and so reasonable at £19.95 for the 3 course xmas menu plus coffee. The food was plentiful and piping hot. Everyone enjoyed their meal there were 17 of us). The staff were all so friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. We would definately recommend this pub for its food, service and friendly atmosphere. Thank you for making our night special."
