"Disappointed with the food and some of the service this evening. The burger was as if it was frozen and served up, had nicer patties for a couple of quid from a kebab van. Definitely wasn’t prepared in house and fresh. No seasoning to the patty and rubbery texture was offered something else but service was slow people in the restaurant waiting a long time for puddings even though it wasn’t busy and tbh the burger really put me off trying something else just to be disappointed again. The beer was off. Just very disappointing. Had to call in and get some dinner from the local co op on the way home. On the way out was told that the burger was new to them and the chef agreed it wasn’t very nice, well surely if it’s new they should be trying it before sending it out on the menu for service and also in an establishment like this shouldn’t they be making up their own burgers not buying pre made in?"

"Lovely place to get some food or a nice hot coffee. We phoned in advanced and asked if it's busy or not and the guy was very polite and allowed us to reserve seating too. We got there and it was all ours for a few minutes, but the 2 staff members we saw were so very welcoming and kind to us both. Delicious coffee and lovely food. We had battered cod, chips and peas Sausage, mash and onion gravy with veggies. The location is very pretty with a nice and cozy interior. We enjoyed our visit and will be returning customers. Definitely recommend. Kid-friendliness: Very welcoming and quiet. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible for everyone, with outdoor seating too if needed. Dietary restrictions: The staff take into account any dietary requirements you may have and are very considerate."

"Service was great especially as the restaurant was very busy. The staff were attentive and helpful however with regards to my steak I was not impressed at all. Two of us ordered the Sirloin steak which wasn't cheap so I was expecting a nice tender steak but mine had a serious amount of gristle which was obviously left on my plate and even the waiter noticed this and asked if everything was ok which obviously I said not really, also although the steak was tasty it was pretty chewy again not something you expect from a 30 day aged steak. It comes with fries which were very nice but no salad just an inch square dollop of cress of some kind, surely a small salad wouldn’t go a miss with the price of this meal? Wish I had taken a photo of this meal so show that this review is a fair comment and not exaggerated. Can’t fault the staff and it was only my meal that was very disappointing ."

"We had an absolutely fantastic experience at this pub! We visited with some friends yesterday for food and drinks. The pub is charming and tucked away, but we didn't mind at all. It's a true local gem! We live nearby and had never even noticed it before, despite driving around the area several times. The pub wasn't crowded, which was great because we had the dining area all to ourselves for a nice catch-up. The food was outstanding, everyone loved their meals. The brownie for dessert was unbelievably gooey and delicious. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. We will definitely be returning! Thank you for a wonderful afternoon. And the fire was so cozy, we didn't want to leave!"

"Feb. 2022. This now well established and popular venue, continues to produce provender of the highest quality. I have been attending the establishment for many years now and it remains one of my favourite restaurants. This night the lamb shank Agnello Brasato was a melt in the mouth shoulder of lamb on a generous bed of mash pototo, brocoli and heritage' carrots. The cheesecake Torta di Formagi came with a topping of tart blackberries, a good foil to the cheese. And of course, the Sanglovese Rubicone, to wash it all down with. Probably the most agreeable house red' in any Italian restaurant. December 21 The panic (of them leaving) is over, but the pandemic remains. The spaghetti bolognese, mixed up like it should be, is beyond reproach and the Fragola e Lampone dessert, comes out better with every presentation. GOOD NEWS BAD NEWS. Aug 2019 Having eaten here often and always finding both the service and the food up to expectation, both waifu and I agreed to visit this establishment for our (whatever-it-was) th anniversary. Booking in advance and mentioning the occasion, the staff had placed roses on our table and we were treated to a complimentary aperitif. The food (taken from the lunch menu) met expectations as did the house red, a modest but pleasing Sangiovese Rubicone 2018, which washed down the meal very well. The day was cold, but the sun shone through the windows, the staff were attentive and amiable and all made the lunch experience most agreeable. That's the GOOD news. The BAD news, is they are leaving. Avaricious land-lords demands have induced a going concern to take their business elsewhere. So, dear reader, if you wish to experience this excellent establishment or wish to do so again, get a wiggle on they will be gone beginning in July. Moving to Winford apparently but more of this later."
