"Wow, what a great experience. The most perfect setting in a great location. The food was incredible and we got much more than we expected. The owner's dogs in the front room (the lounge) were so friendly and loved cuddles which made the experience feel extremely cosy, warm and homely. Me and my boyfriend both had great starters, mains and desserts with coffee afterwards accompanied by little surprise macarons and homemade biscuits. Great drinks, great service and amazing value for money. The best part of the experience however was how friendly the owners were and how happy they were to invite us into their home and business. Would definitely recommend and will be back again! Thanks for a great evening. Money well spent!"

Exquisite food, lovely surroundings, attentive service, and I would consider the price extremely reasonable for what we got. A wonderful dining experience. Could not fault it in any way. Service: 5 Location: 5

A fantastic evening in the Old Inn five courses plus canapés and the cooking is as good as anywhere in the country. Sociable, warm front of house (and two lovely golden retrievers) make this a special and intimate experience. Worth every penny.

What a fabulous little place to eat tucked up on the edge of Dartmoor. The service was relaxed and perfect and the food amazing. We all had something different and nobody was disappointed and as for the little spring roll which was part of the trio of nibbles as we had an aperitif, well it was extraordinary. Ver carta

We come here every year for a family birthday celebration and have one of the dining rooms to ourselves which makes it special. The Inn is cosy but not fussy or pretentious. Warm welcome from the owners (and the 2 lovely dogs). Food is outstanding the 'plate of raspberries ' was, I think, the best dessert I have ever had. Dishes are created and served with care, skill and attention. Wish I lived nearer!

The experience began on a high note with a friendly greeting from the lovely hostess and delicious food that surpassed our expectations. However, the mood was soured by the unfriendly chef who seemed to view our presence in his restaurant as a burden. His brief appearance at our table overshadowed the overall ambiance of what should have been a memorable dining experience in this charming part of Devon.

"Gidleigh Park is a country house located in a wooden wally in Devon. It is quite hard to reach the place on a very narrow road, which is very beautiful, but apparently during the winter larger cars can’t even get there. Gidleigh Park houses a two-Michelin star restaurant with Michael Caines as the main chef (the restaurant was recently voted number 1 restaurant in the UK by the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List 2014). Gidleigh Park also has bedrooms (apparently all individual in style and design) and you can stay there for the night and then wonder in the gardens of the estate, which I saw some people doing when I was there. I was visiting Devon and my boyfriend chose Gidleigh Park for lunch on a Sunday and we took the long and narrow road to Gidleigh Park. The inside of the house was very old and had a lot of charm. It had eclectic art and antiques and different style rooms, the lounge had different tables, chairs and the bar was done up in a completely different style. Gidleigh Park showcased British charm and elegance. You could chose to have their signature sample menu for £140/ person, but instead we went for the much cheaper version, their lunch set menu for £44/ person for 3 courses (you could also have 4 courses for £57). Also note choosing dishes a la carte would set you back £115, so the lunch menu seems like the cheapest way how to enjoy Gidleigh Park. We did not have any wine, but apparently thy have an amazing wine cellar. The three course lunch menu included a small appetizer, a starter and a main course and you could choose from one of the 3 starters and one of the 3 main courses. Our appetizer was “goat’s cheese foam with beetroot jelly, candied walnuts and granny smith apple”, but as my boyfriend does not like goats’ cheese he had a tuna tartar as his appetizer which actually looked better than my appetizer. I was not to"
