we are here recently and were glad we booked. busy, but still good. we had kebabs hanging that were great, and the portions were abundant. in any case recommend. cody traditional pub.

A rare pub in the heart of Buxton that hasn't been converted into a cafe bar. Quality pub food with vegetarian options. A lovely, traditonal pub interior with friendly staff and sunny tables outside.

welcome! a lot of high quality food in the menu. arrived and tables soon filled for eating in the lounge. gammon generous and tasty and yummy chicken also fantastic. great professional staff. well done

Last weekend we spent two nights in Buxton and on both evenings we enjoyed the food, drink and atmosphere of the Old Sun Inn. The pub was welcoming, the staff very pleasant and helpful and both the food and drink were excellent !

large eating, beer and service with some unique menu options such as the fish chowder and hanging steak kebab, both were excellent. beer is the mass-tested brewery goods, but good enough for a few with a meal. would recommend the pub next door. chedder cheese for some real ale of smaller breweries first.

an average Sunday dinner. the service was great and the employee profi. I highly recommend the cauliflower cheese. unfortunately the bark came overdonated and was extremely hard to cut and eat. the maic was delicious as the bratkartoffels. unfortunately the papageien, carrots and...Brukkoli were so tender and overdue. we had the little one and it was still huge. the eton chaos was generous and tasty

W. decided to try some of the recommended pubs before our evening meal at a nearby restaurant. A very old building, a century coaching inn. The wood panelling and stone floors where evident. However, we were expecting to sample some of the Buxton Brewery...Beers, unfortunately not to be; just Marsden's and Banks beers. We only stayed for one drink. A little disappointed, not quite the olde world' ambience we expected.

I wasn't going to leave a review as I get so bored these days of going to differant bars restaurants and getting bad customer service, but after what the pandemic has done I expected more in way of customer service and we as the customer...should be treated better. Stopped here for drinks and decided to order Sunday lunch small portions uninspiring over priced and staff that I believe just don't want to be there as I've said before if you don't want to work with the public and have a don't care attitude work behind the scenes there's lots of people out of work who would love a job like your ???? . We won't return

Clearly a busy spot on the weekend we had a late dinner on the last Friday of the month. Dogs are allowed and very well looked after too! Meal was lovely, my partner had the pie and I had chicken tikka kebab. The food tasted...fabulous and so worth the wait. Staff were attentive but rushed off their feet, so it wasn’t all table service which was honestly not a problem! However, if you had a disability and needed table service this might be worth keeping in mind during busy periods. We ate at sister company the night before and both had great atmosphere and wonderful staff. Izzy really stood out offering brilliant customer service in both venues.
