"We had heard a lot of steams made over this place and if we try to visit last year, we can't make a reservation. Speak for yourself. We were lucky this time and had a walk outside the garden. Right in the centre of Norddorf you can observe how the world is coming and how the sun sets overhead in the early evening. (Only open from 17:00). The facility in the building is very nice, very well maintained and carries a sweet and cozy theme. The feeling is very much that of the family. I especially liked how we were visited not only by a server, but many different faces, all work together and deliver a team/family feeling. Our server recommended the daily speciality of beef and basil Hollandaise, which I liked to take and really enjoyed. We were treated to a seasonal free starter: a pfefferling soup. Every detail took care of. The food cooks to a high standard and the servers professional and friendly. Good price paid. A must see when you visit Amrum."

Sehr freundlicher und humorvoller Service, angenehmes Ambiente und eine gute, feine Küche (Lammcarree auf Curryspitzkohl!). Und der Wein hat auch geschmeckt: ein gelungener Abend!

Jedes Jahr auf Amrum sind wir hier gerne zu Gast. Super Service, qualitativ hochwertige Speisen und lecker. In diesem Jahr hat man den Gastraum vergrößert, was sehr gut gelungen ist. Eine Reservierung ist dringend zu empfehlen!!

Schon Wochen vor meinem Urlaub freue ich mich auf meine Besuche im „Oomes Hus“. Das Essen ist fabelhaft, der Service aufmerksam und immer freundlich und die Inhaberin immer für einen Klönschnack zu haben. Ich würde gerne mehr als 5 Sterne geben. Für mich jeden Jahr ganz klar das Highlight meines Amrum-Aufenthalts. Danke!

We loved everything: decor, service, food and drinks. It wouldn't have been better. There were delicious vegan dishes (also the “Great from the Kitchen”, small soup bowl as a welcome appetizer) and the whole meal was worth every cent. I wish it was my local restaurant! They make a lot of effort in all areas I mentioned, and the atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant.

Seit nunmehr fast 40 Jahren essen wir in unseren Urlauben mindestens einmal in Oomes Hüs. Der Service war immer super freundlich und aufmerksam, die Gaststuben waren gemütlich und das Essen immer sehr gut. Dies hat sich auch unter der Leitung der Familie Johannsen nicht geändert. Diesmal waren wir von dem gratinierten Schafskäse, dem Seehechtfilet und dem Kabeljaufilet begeistert. Die Portionen waren ordentlich, sodass auch das Preis- / Leistungsverhältnis stimmte. Und durch den neuen sehr gelungenen Anbau hat sich auch der Reservierungsstau etwas gelegt.

We must admit that we cannot compare these restaurants with others in Norddorf or Amrum. As we liked it so much in our first night, we decided to return the 2nd (and unfortunately last night) of our stay to Amrum. During the weekend this restaurant is quite busy, so we would recommend to book at least one day in advance to secure you a table. Although we have not tested their meat dishes, we can definitely recommend their fish and seafood dishes. The products are fresh and especially from the region.
