"Saturday night, 8pm, they were out of seaweed salad and the fish selection was very limited. They give you a minuscule quantity of wasabi and ginger and I asked for more. Without telling me, they charged a supplement on the bill! This is like a French bistro charging for extra Dijon mustard! The chef said, "That's how it is in Carpentras." The menus come with absolutely no frills, no salad, no miso soup, no daikon garnish. The good news is that the fish is delivered daily and is fresh. The sushi rolls were mediocre and the esthetics of real Japanese cuisine were missing (the chef is French). The techno music was annoying and the atmosphere a little dreary. We had miso soup, 2 sushi/sashimi menus, and 3 Asahi beers. 70€ for two is very expensive compared to all the far superior Japanese restaurants I've been to. Maybe I will try their take-out menu the next time we don't feel like cooking. I have plenty of wasabi and pickled ginger at home."

Being a great fan of the Japanese kitchen, and in particular the Sushis, the arrival of Osaya-Sushi in Carpentras is very welcome....Our worldwide "search" for the best "japanese", during our travels, makes Osaya-Sushi, just around the corner our very Local hang-out for Sushis...The slightly limited menu offers a nice variety of very fresh courses, we would love to have a few more hot courses >tempuras>>teriyaki etc etc..Nevertheless greg and julie make you feel at home...to come back every week at least once!!!

On being shown to our table a ceramic jug of soy sauce was accidentally knocked and the contents shot all over the table, floor and up the walls. After loads of apologies we were sat at the table opposite and watched the poor waitress clear up the mess. We ordered and all proceeded well initially until the tempura prawns arrived and they were fridge cold. On pointing this out the waitress apologised and rushed them away. Apparently she had mistakenly taken them before being heated. When they were returned hot they were delicious.
