Nice starter Dissapointing main, I ordered the beef cheek, which turned out to be nearly all fat and gristle, with a small piece of edible meat, and hence disappointed. Great location.

Nice bar and restaurant attached to Abbey House hotel difference I found with this is that the prices were not excessive and reasonably priced made for enjoyable evening meal and breakfast.

I had dinner with my young son whilst staying at the hotel, the restaurant and food were top quality. They catered to my son and made us feel so welcome. I would definitely recommend the restaurant and the staff were amazing!

The service was slow. Drinks didn’t come for over half an hour and the order wasn’t correct. Staff didn’t seem to know what they were doing. Food was tasty and quite pleasant. Gluten free menu was very restrictive and the pre-ordered meals were not available. It turned out that half the regular menu was gluten free anyway (apparently).

Booked for nine persons for Christmas Lunch. What a disappointment. Given a table in poky unpleasant room with no atmosphere. Food despite being pre ordered was slow to arrive. Limited choice on the festive table d'hôtel. Terrine dry and tasteless Dry turkey served in a very strange way ? Despite the two course menu being only £19 it was not worth it! Wine is exorbitant Pretty much London prices why? Although we had a great time together, the meal certainly didn't contribute to our enjoyment. Once again another disappointing visit to this overrated establishment.

Me and my husband recently dined in Oscar’s restaurant and it did not disappoint. I love to try things out of my comfort zone so decided to try the venison tartar. This was rich in flavor and beautifully presented. My husband ordered the fish cake which tasted so fresh and fluffy. For mains my husband ordered the jerk chicken burger with fries, this was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. I opted for the loin of venison with chocolate jus. This was cooked perfect for me and the veg just how I like it. We were quite full by this point but thought rude not to order a dessert so decided to share the rhubarb custard tart. You could tell this was all homemade (just like Nanna used to make)....

Actually had breakfast and dinner here but I've reviewed breakfast under the hotels name. Visited Oscars as staying at the hotel and the menu looked lovely. A few days before coming, the menu changed and I had a little panic as you do! One of us will eat anything, and the other is a bit more particular, and there was only one thing on the mains they would eat. Anyway I needn't have worried we both had soup to start with which was piping hot and prompt. The bread roll could have been a bit larger but that said, I was full at the end of the meal!
