"We had been hosted by some local friends to a meal at Da Giomo several months before, and were impressed enough that we wanted to take other friends on our return to the Lucca. As other reviewers have mentioned, the fixed price, family style set menu for all is a bit different than other restaurants, which makes it a bit of a unique experience. So our first trip was great, this most recent, not so much. Biggest issue, no toilet paper (or paper towel, but the latter can be lived with) in the bathroom, a problem not corrected by the time of our departure even when pointed out to the restaurant staff halfway through the evening. That 's a pretty significant service faux pas, and almost deserves a poor rating by itself. But I 'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and assuming it was a one time thing, and this balancing that against the food quality which was generally good but not outstanding. We did seafood Thursday this time 30 euro instead of 25 euro for the standard menu which we had last time. We enjoy seafood sometimes, and enjoyed most of the dishes presented that evening (virtually all of which, save dessert) were seafood based, but I think we would not do it again; two much struggling to remove the shells from smallish prawns on the secondi course (fried seafood and chips) and we found the cuttlefish, which I guess must be been readily available that day, and thus featured in two dishes, rather bland. We reserved ahead and got a table upstairs with a view, but the view is most enjoyable in the summer months when you can sit outside. Table service was friendly and professional. We 'll try it again probably, but it 's no longer at present, in our don 't miss category."

"Arrivando in questo luogo sembra di entrare in una favola. Comodo il parcheggio privato da un giardino perfettamente curato si ha accesso alla struttura che oltre a gazebi all'aperto offre sauna comoda veranda chiudibile con vetrate a scomparsa. La struttura d'epoca, un antico cascinale, perfettamente ristrutturata è poi una ulteriore chicca. Per quanto riguarda il cibo la stella Michelin è sicuramente meritata. Personale altamente qualificato, cordiale e premuroso. I menù degustazione sono fantastici ed il sommelier ti consiglia i migliori abbinamenti sulle portate soprattutto scegliendo il percorso di assaggi al bicchiere. Un'esperienza unica sicuramente da provare. Bravi."

"rustic place in the sense that you enter a village bar then descend into a very simple but cozy room. Menù a voce come oa in our countries, composed of traditional Lucchese dishes. we choose tortelli with ragù, very good) cut of a Florentine with Parmesan rocket and mushrooms to say little spectacular! Just cooked, very tender... to lick the mustache. fried potatoes wine of the coffee house. in three at the cost of a pizza in the city. found by chance but absolutely advisable and to try again. congratulations to the owners."

"Perhaps, judging by the high average of the restaurant reviews, we happened in a wrong day or time. Of all the ordered courses no one was up to expectations. Medium and anonymous appetizer, with a lot of Edamer type cheese slices with plastic wax. Too bad trip, composed of 90% ragù (RAGUS!!! . Equally bad onions soup, exaggeratedly greased and not even baked in the oven. Service at the table warm and welcoming. Too bad, we hope it was a no day, it can happen."
