"La Rava e La Fava is next to a large square with plenty of parking. There are several tables outside under the trees which surround the square. We ordered salume to start and then one of each of the 4 pasta dishes on the menu which we shared as we each wanted to taste the variety. They were very good, tasted fresh and were filling portions. The spaghetti was outstanding in an extremely cheesy sauce (lots of partisan) and what appeared to be a scoop of frozen cheese on top. It looked very much like a scoop of vanilla ice cream!! The waiter explained that you tuck this under the spaghetti so that it melts and then mix it through the pasta. The ravioli was soft and very tasty in its cheese sauce and the ravioli (Angolitti) was filled with tender meat. We ordered the house red which is slightly light and sparkling and went well with the pasta. Deserts were fine except for the peach in jelly which looked spectacular, a shiny dome with several layers, but didn’t really capitalise on the succulent peach. Perhaps this is a loved dish by the locals? Sitting outside eating good pasta and experiencing the amazing sunset makes this worth the drive through the incredibly narrow village streets."

The wine list has 70 labels also on calyx and carafe, meat tasting menu at 38€, fish tasting menu at 43€, fish tasting menu with fried mixed at 36€; à la carte 7 appetizers from 10 to 19€; 5 first from 14 to 16€; 6 seconds from 17 to 19€; 8 desserts at 6€; the menu of Ferragosto, all included, at 48€; it is all available on the website. Not always the menus of the holidays meet fully but, apart from an inconvenience for the sorbetto, we liked the proposal; the service was precise and kind. At the end of lunch our compliments."

"If you want to experience excellent food and atmosphere while eating 8 courses over three hours, this is the place to go! Recommended by a local in Carezzano, this organic cooperative is a farm, vineyard, farm shop and restaurant. We were lucky enough to get a table on a busy Sunday lunchtime. They have recently expanded and built a new outdoor dining area which overlooks the vineyard and surrounding hills. A really stunning location to sit outside, enjoy the views of the countryside and eat excellent food. We don’t speak Italian but one of the serving staff spoke English and guided us through the afternoon with great charm and generosity! Everyone is served the same dishes which appear at regular intervals. Tip don’t eat too much of the bread which comes at the start of the meal. It’s delicious but there is LOTS more food to come. A really fresh salad with goats cheese starts off the meal, followed by the antipasti a selection of farm salami and prosciutto. Then there is the carpaccio of raw beef with parmesan and lemon, aubergine parmigiana which was delicious and I don’t like aubergine!! , risotto, then the pasta, a local version of ravioli Angolitti which was filled with really tender meat. You eventually reach the main, which on this occasion was tender beef and courgettes. Desert was a choice of peaches with sugar and ice cream. Peaches are in season at the moment August and are so different in taste from the ones you buy in a supermarket. A chocolate mouse and semifredo with gratings of white chocolate was also available. We drank local, organic, wine throughout the meal, recommended be the staff and finished with dark coffee. This was certainly a meal and venue to remember. We think the menu changes each time depending on seasonal produce so, something different on every visit."
