"This tavern is a real gem in the historic center of Modena and my experience was five stars. There are not many seats, so booking is recommended, and the location is fascinating and evocative. When you enter, it feels like taking a dive into the past. On Tuesday evening, in addition to the two of us, there was another table with six people and the evening was accompanied by pleasant background music. The service was thoughtful and attentive, just a little slow. After ordering, the wait for the first course was about 30 minutes. The atmosphere is certainly one of the strong points of this place, enhanced by the quality of the dishes. The menu is very traditional and can be viewed from your smartphone, like the extensive wine list. Portions are average. In addition to the covers €3), we paid for a first course each, a water, a bottle of wine and a second course for two, for a total of €37.50 per person. More or less each dish has a price between €15 and €20. The pumpkin tortelloni with ragù and the donkey stew are highly recommended. Thanks for the lovely evening!
