Osteria Tarantina - Carta

We went there on our last night in Berlin, my wife had steak and i had saltimbocca , both excellent . The wine was also very good.the service and the food made it a excellent night .

Ein echtes italienisches Restaurant mit entsprechenden Gerichten. Schmeckt alles sehr gut. Der Innenraum ist nicht besonders groß, es empfiehlt sich, zu reservieren. Im Sommer kann man auch auf der Terrasse sitzen.

We visited this restaurant simply because it was across from our hotel, but we weren't disappointed. We had a fantastic meal. The prawns were to die for. The menu is varied, the food is tasty and the prices are VERY reasonable. Great place. Ver carta

I went there when my family was in town, and we found it because it was near their hotel, but it was such a pleasant surprise. We were a big group (10 of us), and nobody could stop praising the dish they chose. Pizza, pasta or rissotto, they nailed all of them. Totally recommended!

This is a place off the beaten track, but still central. The lunch offers are price wise unbeatable, haven't tried them though. I had the scampi in garlic sauce which were really nice. A great place for lunch with their €6,90 offer but also very tranquil comparing the sourroundings

Gick hit på rekommendation från vår italienska portier på hotellet vi bodde. Han hade rätt i att det var bra. Trevlig personal, god mat till bra priser. Inredningen kändes som om man var på en liten kvarterskrog i Italien. Man kunde inte betala med kort, vilket förövrigt gäller på flera lite mindre krogar märkte vi. Ver carta

Restaurant was just next to our hotel and after passing the previous night and seeing that the place was jumping we thought to give it a go the following evening. Got there early and there were only two other tables taken up but gradually started filling up while we ate. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The whole place felt really authentic and the food did not disappoint. Such good value for money, calzone stuffed with meat and cheese for €8.50 and a huge bowl of pasta for €6.50. We were stuffed. This small Italian osteria has been here for many years. It mostly caters to people working in the area looking for an affordable lunch. The lunch menu changes weekly and consists of a choice of 2 or 3 starters and 2 or 3 main dishes, including one vegetarian. All that for EUR 6,50. The cooking is maybe not as good as your Italian mama would make it but certainly good enough for me. The service is friendly with character, this is after all Berlin. Most certainly recommended!PS At first, many people don't find it, as it essentially is on the doorstep of the holding area for trams that depart from Hackescher Markt.

We initially went to Aposto just down the road but after discovering that they didn't have our intended food choices on the menu they apologised and suggested we try the Osteria Tarantina.We did and were seated at a dirty table, it wasn't wiped clean but just fresh cutlery was placed out once we were sat.I absolutely understand that owning a restaurant means you can dress however you wish but when your waiter turns up in a scruffy t-shirt and jeans, it should be a red flag.We ordered the carbonara, asked if I'd like it with cream, yes please.
