"We initially went to Aposto just down the road but after discovering that they didn't have our intended food choices on the menu they apologised and suggested we try the Osteria Tarantina. We did and were seated at a dirty table, it wasn't wiped clean but just fresh cutlery was placed out once we were sat.I absolutely understand that owning a restaurant means you can dress however you wish but when your waiter turns up in a scruffy t-shirt and jeans, it should be a red flag.We ordered the carbonara, asked if I'd like it with cream, yes please. We also ordered a pasta dish with chillies and basil, I unfortunately forget the name of it.Once it arrived, quite quickly I'll admit the carbonara could have been picked up with one twist of the fork - No creamy sauce in sight. I was hungry so just decided to eat it but it was an incredibly poor dish that required mouthfuls of water after each bite just to make it consumable. I abandoned it after 6 mouthfuls. The pasta dish my fiance had seemed like the chillies were an after-thought and just thrown into the dish once it was cooked, crunchy raw chillies just didn't taste good at all.The food wasn't great but the absolute worst part of this experience was the music, the chef was quite literally fist bumping along to techno music, techno music.. In an Italian restaurant, not low key for his own enjoyment in the kitchen, but a his phone connected to a bluetooth speaker blasting out into the restaurant. We decided to abandon the meals, pay our bill and leave.Asked the waiter for the bill, who came over to the table and just told us an amount, no actual bill, just saying it was X amount of euros. I asked to see an actual bill which was €25.Just as we were leaving the chef decided to start blasting out Michael Jacksons Thriller, maybe I just appreciate a more relaxed atmosphere with background music rather than techno and thriller. The best way to describe this restaurant is that the children have been charged with looking after their parents restaurant while their parents are away.Wouldn't eat here again."
