We've had the steak here before and had high expectations as they have always been good, this time we (pre)ordered the Chateaubriand as we've never had this cut before. It was seared beautifully so the meat had a smokey exterior but was butter knife tender on the inner. I recommend this as a treat but there are plenty of other items to be enjoyed which are less indulgent and the Sunday menu is very good value too.

Have used the bar menu here many times and the food has always been excellent. Yesterday was the first time er have been disappointed. The chips were very overcooked. My husband had the steak and ale pie but the size of the pie was greatly reduced from the size it used to be. My daughter and I had the fish platter the only problem was the very overcooked chips so I left most of mine. I hope the restaurant reads this review and goes back to the excellent food it usually provides. Ver carta
