Otterton Mill - Menú

Bought some granery bread in the delightful little farm shop on site. Pricey at £3.25 what isn’t pricey these days?! but worth every penny.

This charming restaurant is situated in an old mill and serves delicious, homemade food. The scones and soups are particularly delightful. The interior of the restaurant can be a bit chilly, so be sure to bring a scarf!

Having been recommended to try we visited with one of our daughters and her two children who are fussy eaters. We wanted to order cream teas and assorted cakes but one of the children wanted just a side of chips (which is on the menu)...

Lucky to arrive here just as the rain started pouring down so very happy to sit and enjoy a steaming hot chocolate and cakes we didn't really deserve as we hadn't walked very far down the nearby river path to Budleigh Salterton. Will walk more...

Had lunch here on Thursday, sitting in the sunny, protected-from-the wind garden with a dog. All staff friendly and helpful. Lovely lunch of generous portion of garlic mushrooms on toast, while my friend had the cauliflower soup and bread. Very nice as usual.

We ordered the fish and chips, which came in a generous portion at a great price. The batter on the fish was the best we've ever had, and the chips were freshly cut and cooked to perfection. The service was fast and friendly. We will definitely return when we're in the area.

After a tiring walk from Sidmouth we arrived at Otterton Mill ready for a drink. The coffee was good and the hot ginger beer exceptional. However the main reason for this review is the pasty. The keralan cauliflower and chickpea pasty we chose was the best veggie snack I have ever had. It was warm, pastry excellent and the filling amazing. Thanks for a lovely experience

Very pleasant lunch at Otterton mill with my folks, I really relished the warmed through gluten free bread roll served with the really generous Ploughmans platter, there was a healthy amount of salad and vegetables, celery, apple and beetroot, coleslaw and new potato, unusual and really welcome to get the required amount of plants when eating out in the touristy bits of beautiful Britain. There is a masterful bakery a farm shop, craft shop and it is in a magical area with a vast saltmarsh wetland being restored and wild beavers about!

I went for afternoon tea on Mother's Day. Unfortunately, we were unable to sit in the area I had reserved as it was closed. Additionally, they refused to serve me a toasted tea cake because it was after 4pm. When I made the booking, I was not informed of this policy. It would have been helpful to know that certain items are not available after a certain time, so we could have arrived earlier. The service was poor, and I would recommend avoiding this restaurant. The staff member I complained to was unsympathetic and did not offer any compensation. I also found the meal to be overpriced for what we received. I will not be returning any time soon.
