"The Parkhotel is a pleasant hotel in the Hemstedt city centre. A park is not (more) to be seen, but a very nice outdoor area, a little understatement from the house as a beer garden. I look from my room window all day to the shaded places under the big screens and between the green hedges and of course I sit there in the evening. It's less going on, but the beer garden is also very good to enter from the street, so you don't have to go through the hotel entrance (which would be no problem, however). The tables are still quite new and covered with fabric and small flower decoration, the cozy armchairs are all well padded. As so often in comparable hotels, it remains a bit unclear whether it is a public restaurant, certainly this is the case, but a bit the restaurant plays this opportunity, for example the restaurant has no own name. The very friendly service (she is also the receptionist) welcomes me personally and brings the card. This quickly reminds me of comparable 3 star hotels with their own kitchen: There are all classics, a bit like from the old cooking school, nothing below a certain level (e.g. the curry sausage lacks), but also nothing above a certain level. Smooth, a few salads, baked Camenbert, some fish, schnitzel, a noodle dish and, of course, the asparagus. There is something for everyone, though no dish with a special creative touch surprises me so that I want to order it right away. Surprising and remarkable is the open wine card with more individual drops, I choose a semi-dry Riesling, which is properly tempered and gifted. I then ordered a 200g beef fillet steak from the steak selection, with herbal butter, a small salad and Steak House Pommes. The steak is awarded €20.50 and is more of the most expensive dishes on the map. Included in the price is a sauce or Herbal butter, the additional supplements are calculated extra with 2 euros each. This is, in turn, quite favourable, but I do not fully understand this price policy and I am really looking forward to all inclusive offers and not this little walking shop at then rather expensive meat dishes. Maybe it's better to ask 25 euros and put the 3 supplements to choose from. The preparation lasts quite long, I know I am the only essential guest. But maybe it's just that void that causes a certain duration. The meat then served is of remarkable quality, a large middle piece, the 200g are very hospitable. Well grilled, with very good own taste, tends slightly over medium, but this is also ok. In addition, a real mountain of very good, wide and thick pommes (maybe a bit too much, at least for aesthetics), a very small portion of herbal butter and an extra rich fresh salad, consisting of 3 leaf salads, lots of fresh peppers and some tomatoes. The service asks twice whether everything is right and also offers some ketchup for the pommes in view of the amount I like to take it. In the meantime, it is also asked whether the herbal butter would be rich, that is very attentive. With a little over 30 euros for steak, supplements and wine I come to a decent price performance ratio. Especially the meat quality was surprisingly good, the service was very attentive and rather familiary. I recommend the place."

We decided to eat here whilst staying in the hotel, which I have already reviewed. We were glad we had as the food was very good. It was asparagus season and we all indulged in various formats! The Hollandaise with mine was excellent and the meat courses were also well prepared. Service was good and we would eat here again. There is also a small beer garden which is attractive.

The menu offers a good home kitchen. No more and no less. Location of the hotel is good. Near downtown. It's not far to the highway. This hotel is definitely recommended. We were a guest at the Parkhotel while visiting family in Helmstedt. Our room was large and comfortable. The bed was excellent. The breakfast is ample with good choices. We had dinner outdoors in the beautiful biergarten and enjoyed an excellent meal with good pricing. During our visit, my husband became ill. The hotel staff were gracious an accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed until he felt better.

The Parkhotel is one of only two hotels in Helmstedt. Many alternatives are not available. Generally, Helmstedt is not the place where the bear dies in the evening, but when he meets professionally.... The building itself seems to be very old, or we say historically, old somehow sounds negative. It's really all tidy and clean. My room that shared the nights with me was not necessarily big. But must it be? For no more understandable reasons, I also participated in the breakfast buffet as a conscientious objector. It was all conceivable. So when Helmstedt is back, definitely Parkhotel.

In case of misbooking, guests were cured and vaccinated. There was no explanation of how to avoid misbooking and, if necessary, how to adjust the procedure. A question whether you can go to the bar with 8 people in the evening was rejected for the reason that you would have only 5 seats.
