Found this place on the Mitchelin Guide while visiting Colwyn Bay, we were looking for a place to eat, 7 adults and 3 children.

This place is the hidden gem of the town:( I live in Vegas and have tried a lot of foods at restaurants around the world and this place is phenomenal.

Very good in so many ways as it always has been in the 15 or so years I have visited with family. Menu could do with a refresh on choices, that said the chicken Milanese was delicious. Friendly welcome from the host and great service. Ver carta

Cauliflower and Cheddar soup wasn't hot so still had lumps of unmelted cheese in it. Lamb was overcooked, vegetables were bland and limp. Overall the dish was dry. Had the French apple and toffee with ice cream which was nice but portion size was smaller than before. Service was good but didn't get that overall feeling of a good experience due to the food. First class service and food tonight we had the mushroom bourgignon pie, steak burger and fbeer battered fish and chips and each of us really enjoyed our meal. The quality of the coffee at the Pen y Bryn is unequalled and from the moment we were greeted at the door until we left, the service that Andrew and his team provided was brilliant. This restaurant is a beautiful place to dine, with a cozy atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food. The menu is extensive with plenty of options, and the dishes are always well-presented and hot. I especially appreciate that they serve a proper pot of tea, complete with sugar cubes, in the correct pots that don't spill over. The ambiance is relaxing, and the staff are attentive and helpful. The restaurant is also wheelchair accessible with disabled toilets. The only suggestion I have is to add a few marked disabled parking bays at the front of the restaurant.
