"Whilst travelling over from Birmingham to visit family we decided to go for something to eat. This is not an easy prospect in Armagh on a Tuesday night as many restaurants don’t open Mondays or Tuesdays. Based on tripadvisor reviews we gave Toni’s bar and grill a go and have to say we certainly weren’t disappointed. From the moment we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff and seated in a booth. The waitress was really helpful, detailing different meals and making changes to suit individual preferences. We ordered a combo platter for two and nachos for starters between four of us. The combo platter was amazing, ribs, wings, mushrooms and strippers. All was really tender, tasty and plentiful. The nachos were massive and full of flavour. The potions were huge and we all could have left satisfied at that point but we had ordered mains......... we ordered two bird n beasts (I think) which was slow cooked brisket on a bed of champ with lovely, perfectly cooked vegetables and gravy. Two others had burgers. The food was beatific and plentiful. I can not recommend this place enough, the staff were genuinely helpful and friendly, the food good quality, beautifully prepared with generous portions. Will certainly be visiting next time we are over!"

"My friend and myself Went here for dinner before going the the theatre, I got the veg pakora starter, its was so fresh and the sauce was beautiful combined together absolutely outstanding, for the main I got chicken madras and rice, it’s was delicious hot and fiery just how I like it and the garlic nan was just what was need to make this meal a 10/10 staff are lovely and attentive, the restaurant was beautiful and clean, never got kept waiting for dinner it was out in plenty of time and piping hot great price first time eating here but it won’t be my last."

"we struggled to find something in armagh with vegan items that are marked on the menu online. Tourist info kindly informed me that this place had vegan options on the dinner menu. they are not online and the online menu is a carnivore and pretty hard to read to be honest. at the arrival there was a vegetarian/vegan menu in the foyer, so that we sneak in. we were able to book a table, but it is definitely worth a booking as they were fairly booked. there were three starters and three nets. I ordered the victories and was then informed that they were not vegan. we shared flatbread and noodle starter. the flatbread was delicious. the noodles were delicious, but a bit oily and swirling for me. I had served the day with bread and rice. it was good to get a lot nice and there was a nice sweet / nutty feeling on the top that added a welcome texture to the court that was quite simple. the brownie was delicious, served warm with obst and large enough to share. our coffee order has been rushed so we were thrilled when the waitress remembered and offered soy or mandelmilch without asking. the few sips of merlot were good and also coffee nice. I would recommend this place. beautiful ambiente and grown decoration also. pity that it does not say on their website about catering for vegan diets."

"We went to the Friary as a family of 6 (3 adults 3 children) at the weekend. The restaurant was very busy, though we had booked our table earlier in the week. We were seated drink orders taken straight away. The good points the food was excellent. We ordered mains of sea bass, pork belly rack of lamb. All the food was cooked to perfection with good selection of sides. Could not fault the main meals. For dessert we ordered profiteroles 2 Key Lime pies. We were given profiteroles 2 Malteser Cheesecakes... The bad points ok so we were given the wrong desserts, which was not great. But we were getting the desserts for free, because we were left waiting almost an hour for main courses! The problem was that just before we went into the restaurant, a huge group (maybe 15 adults approx 15 children) were seated. The kids were rowdy running around so staff were under alot of pressure. The adults werent much better... Just as we were about to complain about our wait, the manageress approached us to apologise for the delay, offered either free desserts or a free round of drinks as way of apology. She apologised a few times for the delay genuinely tried her best to sort it out. Despite the delay, i would definitely go back to the Friary. The food was lovely"
