"Il Piccolo Principe, the Little Prince, is not small when it comes to menu choices. We are in Italy working for 5 months and this place, one block away from us, is a popular neighborhood pizzeria/restaurant and now I know why. Reviews I read talked about the friendly service and good food that is served in generous amounts. That is accurate! The risotto with artichokes and shrimp was a very large portion packed with incredible flavor. We went fish on two other orders--the Genovese-style octopus (olives, potatoes, garlic, cherry tomatoes and oil white wine) cooked/served on a cast iron pan. What a great combination! The Fritto Mist (squid, shrimp, prawns and zucchini) also a lot of food, very lightly dusted and fried to allow the true flavor to be enjoyed. Because we did not know how large those items were, we made the mistake of also ordering two pizzas--Porcini mushrooms and Speck and also a Sausage Mushroom. These were easily 14 pies. The Speck Porcini had the most amount of meat I have seen in my three and one-half months here in Italy, really generous amount. Both pies were great and we have half of each to enjoy today along with some of the delicious risotto. The only negative, which actually wasn 't a negative but I offer as a heads-up, was ordering wine. I guess I dragged my feet in choosing, so our host/manager/owner suggested the house wine. I was reluctant. It was Red, but came chilled and had a sweet taste, almost a tiny bit of carbonation to it. When our man came by we indicated that wasn 't really what we were hoping for and he smiled and said, Where 's the problem? (meaning no problem). I chose a bottle of Dolcetto from Piemonte that I had enjoyed before and all was good. Being Americans, we were the first people in there at 7 pm, but soon others trickled in and by the typical 8-8:30 hour the place was full. We 're happy to know we 're part of the neighborhood for another 5 weeks and we 'll be back to see the guys at Il Piccolo Principe."

Warm hospitality, decent food. Overall experience very good. As I have arrived the restaurant was not yet open, however they offered me a table and served me a glass of wine up till they were ready

Went here with my Girlfriend on our first night in Milan. Food was lovely and the portions very generous. Above all I have to say many thanks to the waiter who’s service was fantastic and really made us feel at home . Very impressed overall

This restaurant is fantastic. The staff is terrific they greet you enthusiastically and we were seated at a nice table with cloth tablecloths immediately. We had pasta dishes both nights be ate there that beyond belief. Generous tasty portions that left you completely satisfied. The prices were very reasonable. If I return to Milan I’ll be back Ver carta

I have been to Milan many times and am just finishing up a week here and this is the best simple pasta meal I have ever had in this city. And the restaurant was open on November 1, when all others were closed. The ragu is perfect. The pasta is perfect. The clams were perfect. Everything was well-cooked and perfectly flavored. I cannot say enough about this little, unassuming neighborhood restaurant, and not even a great neighborhood at that.

We visited a place with my wife in the end of September right after the opening. The service was terribly slow, we were alone for quite some time, but it took like 15 minutes only to bring us a menu. As primi piatti we had risotto and gnocchi, gnocchi were good but lacked some ingredients said in the menu (namely speck and nuts). Risotto was terrible, seemed like they used the cheapest rice not intended for risotto at all and overboiled it into some kind of porridge. As secondi piatti, we both ordered a tartar, which was tasty, but very small and poorly served for 20 euro. Drinks also had their downsides my wife wanted a glass of wine, and their did not propose anything besides vino della ca...
