"Wir kommen nun bereits seit über 25 Jahren mindestens einmal pro Jahr nach Cochem und haben dabei so ziemlich alles durch, was man aufsuchen konnte. Die Alte Gutsschänke ist als Weinstube absolut Top. Natürlich können die dort gereichten kleinen Gerichte nicht mit den guten Restaurats mithalten - aber wie gesagt - es ist eine Weinstube und kein Restaurant. Der Laden ist meistens voll, alle Plätze besetzt, sodass man stets mit anderen Menschen an einem Tisch sitzt, was der Kommunikation äußerst zuträglich ist. Wir haben in jedem Jahr alte Bekannte wiedergetroffen und neue Bekanntschaften schließen dürfen. Die Weine aus eigenem Anbau sind von guter Qualität, der Wirt/Winzer ist stets freundlich und bemüht, die Wünsche von Kennern zu befiedigen und Wein-Neulinge in die hohe Kunst des Weinkonsum einzuführen *lol*. Das Personal ist handverlesen!"

"have spent a super nice evening there on Saturday night! big host, all we have tried were delicious top and we have already ordered in the past, often great there and have also discovered a few new wee will also like to order. the food was prepared with love and very tasty. all to recommend! a very great experience and they can notice that in everything they have heart blood in their family arnoldi."

"I read some reviews and heard from friends that this was thé place to eat in Cochem am Mosel, so we were very excited to find the restaurant near empty on our arrival as we had expected a wait.There was nobody to greet us as we walked in so after waiting politely waiting at the entrance for a bit we decided to seat ourselves awaiting the the host, waiter/waitress to come and greet us.It took another 5 minutes for the waitress to show up. As soon as she showed up she kindly requested us to move from the cozy booth-like spacious table to a smaller wooden table. Since the entire restaurant was empty, with the exception of one gentleman and it was about an hour before closing we did not see her point to keep the large table for non-guests so we kindly declined. The frauleins entire attitude changed and we could hear her screaming and yelling in the kitchen to the chef. She then proceeded to vent her grief to the other patron in German. One might imagine her surprise when I kindly informed her that I was able to understand her conversations ( I am Dutch so I understand the language ) and did not appreciate her treating us this way. Being used to American customer service I do lower my standards somewhat but to be told smack about a semi-professional in a small town restaurant in the middle of nowhere is not something I accept. We were looking forward to taste the local food but were quite frankly concerned that this would come with some non-sanitary condiments."

"We have been going to this cafe since 2004, just to get the apple strudle and coffee. They do lots of other very fancy cakes so all tastes will be catered for. They also do more substantial meals if you want more. A pot of Coffee for one and a piece of apple strudle works out at about 8 euros, so it's not that cheap but well worth it. If you can get a seat by the window, the cafe is on the edge of the town square and you can people watch for ages."

"Wir sind bei euch gelandet, nachdem uns tripadvisor quasi hierhergelotst hat und wir wurden überhaupt nicht enttäuscht - eher das Gegenteil. Das Restaurant war voll besetzt als wir ankamen, aber wir hatten Glück und bekamen nach einer kleinen Wartezeit einen Tisch. Die Mädels im Service waren eindeutig im Stress, trotzdem waren sie sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Unsere Bestellung wurde fix aufgenommen. Dass Essen und auch Getränke vielleicht eine Minute länger dauerten war für uns nur verständlich (wie gesagt das Restaurant war bis auf den letzten Platz besetzt und es kamen immer wieder neue Leute, die teilweise leider auf einen anderen Abend verwiesen werden mussten) und durch das rundum freundliche Auftreten des Personals saß man auch gerne einfach im Restaurant. Bruschetta vorweg und Pizza als Hauptgang waren einsame Spitze! Selten so leckere Pizza bekommen! Hinterher hab's noch nen Schnaps aufs Haus. Wir würden so gern wiederkommen (wenn die Anreise nicht so weit wäre)!"
