"We stayed yesterday for the first time in Maria's Taverne Essen and were delighted. The food was very delicious. We were already in some Greek restaurants in Essen, but Maria's Taverne is the best in the total area (about 100 km). All employees are very nice, polite and very attentive. You feel comfortable. In advance you get a very fresh salad (see photo). Very sufficient. The Gyros very tasty and the pork fillet was very delicate. There was potato gratin to this pig fillet. This was top! It was a very nice evening and we like to come back. Maria's Taverne can only be recommended!"

"Here the real Italian cuisine is lived every day! Very often changing daily recommendations that are really delicious. Nice, friendly hosts who are with lots of fun at work! Since our last review we have been back to our favorite restaurant many times. We would like to emphasise once again the fish dishes, which are characterized by an unbeatable price performance ratio. Appetizer variation, pasta dish (often several variations), meat or fish course, depending on the choice and a fantastic dessert (also often from several components) including a good bottle of white or red wine. All single gears are naturally characterized by freshness and quality. We love the surprise factor at the menu. It is a taste experience every time. If someone does not like individual components due to his personal taste, this must not be a reason to evaluate the menu in itself worse. Freshness, quality and craftsmanship of cooking in itself, deserve full recognition here. By the way, it has always tasted great!"
