"The Alt Lich was a pleasant little restaurant about 1 block from the main pedestrian street. With just nine tables in the main dining room, it was tastefully decorated, rather in a traditional style of a small German restaurant. We had called ahead for a reservation and were asked if we could move our reservation either an hour earlier or later because a large group was expected. This turned out to be a wise decision because the server was able to give both our party and the large party full attention. We had also indicated that we were celebrating a wedding aniversary and if we could have a table on the side and have it decorated. They complied and we found the table to be very nicely set up when we arrived. The service was excellent with the server waiting until we had comfortably finished a course before the next was served. Each dish was served at the appropriate temperature. The food was outstanding. The menu was all ala carte but the prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. Two different soups were ordered, one a "baerlauch" (wild garlic/ramsoms) soup and the other beef broth soup with noodles. Both were outstanding. Baerlauch was in season and was new to me. It was essentially a light cream soup with pureed baerlauch, giving it a very subtle and unique taste, and containing two raviolis filled with baerlauch. The beef soup was clearly freshly prepared natural broth and was also outstanding. Three of the party ordered the Argentinian rumpsteak with roasted vegetables. The steak was about 4 cm thick and was perfectly cooked, having ordered it rare or "English" style. The roasted vegetables included a mixture of zucchini, green beans, red pepper with olive oil and baerlauch, perfectly cooked and mildly seasoned. The fourth person had a pork steak with roasted potatoes. The pork was also perfectly cooked and very juicy. A simple dessert of walnut ice cream was ordered as we all were comfortably full with the two courses. Of course, as we were in Lich, we had the local Licher beer which is always good. Overall, we had an extremely pleasant evening. I enthusiatically recommend trying this restaurant. I have eaten in many local restaurants throughout Germany and consider this one of my more memorable meals."

"Classic good Italian with family charm.We were five on the way and stopped by this well located restaurant near the highway. Before we called for a short time and fortunately reserved!!The shop was really crowded out of house food. Nevertheless, it was served quite quickly.Gastraum, is relatively small and equipped with the known furniture in dark brown. "General Alte Klostermühle on the grounds of the monastery ruin Arnsburg, right on the way from the highway to the town of Lich. The old walls, the large trees, the whole terrain radiates a certain amount of radiance and tranquility. A place where you want to stay. And an appropriate gastronomic offer invites you. Tables and chairs on tile floor under shadow or tree shadow, which is positive. For many years, gastronomy has been in the same direction. There was a qualitatively very fluctuating offer. From very excellent to good, it was, you were always surprised. In good times, gastronomy was a real highlight, but as a connoisseur, one thought of a recommendation. The restaurant has been thoroughly redesigned for a short time and is under new leadership. In the approach with new fresh kitchen, significantly reduced card and only a fraction of the wide range of the predecessor. And that's exactly what I have, the best quality of ingredients, but unfortunately still quite tasteless. This can be natural cuisine, unfortunately it is also quite boring. Such a bit more spices on the meat egg, a crimp in the carrots and a crumb salt in the potatoes would certainly not have spoiled anything. My wife had Wiener Schnitzel from veal with roast potatoes and salad. Well, the carving had a little butter taste and came out of the pan and not from the unsatisfactory frit. Bratkartoffel have even more own taste thanks to fat. And enough salt gives the whole a real taste. The atmosphere Unfortunately the outdoor area was completely boring. Wooden tables with cast iron base are not bad, but the plastic baskets fit into this monastery ambience as the famous fist. Here, the approach is unfortunately only slightly implemented in the mainstream. Very different the new interior. There was really a sympathetic modern ambience. Very good. Cleanliness The house is clean and well maintained. However, the toilet facilities are very limited."

"Dinner for two, a vegetarian. Service impresses from arrival to departure. Offer a range of seating inside and outside and went with the outdoor option despite a temperature of 38. Cuisine that was common here in Italian restaurants was quite a nice dish of pifferling mushrooms and onion and quite delicious. My partner had a vegetarian entree Fagottini and I had a lamb back band on beans with salad with red wine reduction. Both meals were very delicious and the red wine reduction was absolutely excellent. I also went with and previous authors recommendation and had a glass of the San GUI red wine, which was a very nice match with the lamb and red wine sauce. Bread was delivered and filled without asking. Together with a beer and a bottle of water, the total costs are €74. The food and service were excellent and difficult to mistake. Larger eaters may need two or more courses to be satisfied."
