"We were looking for crêpes as you can't visit France without having them at least once. This place was the first place we found that served crêpes so sat outside on La Place de la Republique on a sunny afternoon. The square is being worked on, like the majority of central Limoges, and is dominated by a modern building above Monoprix, but it still beats having lunch at my desk in the City. The crêpes were good, although too sweet for my taste, but my wife rated hers highly. Lots of French workers and shoppers eating what looked and smelt good food, particularly salads given the warm afternoon. Service was friendly and the staff spoke English, which, as my grasp of French starts to slip as I get my end of holiday blues, is always a plus.Better than average hence the four stars, although I am sure that you could find others places equally good on any other street or square in Limoges. Recommended but not one that is unmissable."

Nice setting, okay seating in the square and average service. Bit of a limited menu and better choices elsewhere.

Warm welcome from friendly staff at the end of their long day....we had kir vin blanc as usual and we had a good varied choice of sirops. Reasonably priced for city centre.

This centrally located restaurant is ideal for office workers wanting a reasonably priced lunch. It sports outside tables which on a warm day are ideal to eat and people watch at the same time. We had the 2Plat de Jour" which was entrecote steal and frites. At 10e this was a good buy. The restaurant was very busy when we were there.

We decided to have lunch in this very French style restaurant, the owner welcomed us and explained the menu in English which was a great help, We both had the plate of the day and the food was delicious, wine pleasant and the service great, what more could you want. The restaurant was full with locals which is always a good sign, I would recommend this place to anyone. Ver carta

We have over the past eight years regularly visited Pomme Cannelle for a light lunch and coffer and never disappointed. The menu is simple but great, which is why they are always busy and full, especially if their outside seating is not in use.We visited again on Wednesday and had a relaxing lunch, in the sun and will be back yet again, no doubt on yet another visit to Limoges

First of all don't get me wrong nice place nice setting. The problem for me was some had eaten out and about and found the food here nice, but not as nice as others. It was very average. The best way to describe everything is ok. You won't leave here disappointed I am sure, but I fear you may leave thinking wow there's something missing. Don't give this place a wide birth but do expect average

Decided to stop here as it was full of locals and seemed very busy, a good sign I feel. We were not wrong, one of the waiters (boss) spoke good English which helped in our choices. Food delivered hot and prompt, three different meals, plat de jour really good flavours / steak tartar son thought it was good and a pasta dish again very tasty. Wine choice limited but still really good when we tried it. Good selection of teas and coffee excellent Ver carta

We really like this brasserie and always prefer to eat inside rather than on the pavement terrace or under the large umbrellas on the square in summer. Lunchtimes are invariably busy with a regular clientele enjoying their lunch break. The salads and tartines are huge and there's always a plat du jour. The busy service makes for a great atmosphere and everything is reasonably priced.

My wife and I had spent the night in Limoges and decided to see what might be open for breakfast on a Sunday morning. We came upon the Pomme Cannelle. After asking if he should use French or English (we said French, so we could improve our limited abilities) the owner himself explained a large croissant, juice and tea or coffee. I had two croissants in the end. All was reasonably priced and fitted the bill. My wife commented it was the best cup of tea she had experienced in France (it was real leaves not a tea bag) to which the owner said he had owned a salon de the then expanded. He was so helpful in giving us directions and taking time to make us feel welcome. Thouroughly recommended.

"Booked the day before, we arrive a little late, no worries for the welcome which was charming: First glances, the dining room is cozy, the armchairs cute, the restaurant decor is trendy. Low volume music giving the nice soundscape. The starters were as tasty as they were well presented, even a little surprise in the association of tastes. The dishes, more traditional, were very well made, no errors in cooking or seasoning, the sauces highlighting the meat well, and the effort of presentation always welcome. The wine advice was perfect, my glass of Corsican wine was even surprising and went wonderfully with my beef. We were able to taste only one dessert, because we had eaten well before, the chocolate cake was very good as well as the accompanying vanilla ice cream. The coffee even if it's a detail was served in pretty cups, ending the meal on a warm note : We can only recommend this restaurant, both for the cozy atmosphere and the delicious food : (Original Reserved, the day before, we arrive a little late, no worries for the welcome that was charming : First look, the room is cozy, the cute chairs, the decor of the restaurant is trendy. "Only just of the beaten track which makes parking much easier! This restaurant is expensive in relation to others but is good value considering the quality and service. The menu takes a bit of working out as prices for steak are quoted by weight (multiples of 100gms) and the minimum weight you can order is also stated. To make matters more complicated you can also chose how many weeks the meat has been matured for. Whether you choose Classic or 4 week mature, the quality is all good and extremely well cooked. Even meat cooked very rare is melting. This is a "proper" steak restaurant so make sure you go for the steak. There are fixed price menus but I would keep it simple. Steak, chips with its side of vegetables. Pork and lamb is also available and there is a concession to non-meat eaters in the form of a mushroom omelette. I am sure it is delicious ......Wine is also priced at the top end and excellent. . House wine is also very acceptable.Whenever we have visited the clientele have been all French from the professional classes who are there to see and be seen. Its fascinating ! One little niggle. At the price, the amuse bouche could have been more exciting than a thin slice of fairly mundane salami with a chunk of bread. For faux filet (250 gms) and a large entrecote steak (450 gms) , with a bottle of AC Beaujolais the bill will be around 70 Euros. A starter and pud could increase that by at least 20 Euros. Nevertheless, recommended for the quality, service and ambience. The staff are really charming."
