Friendly hotel restaurant. Quiet on a Sunday night but a nice reception from the team. First class burger without a long wait. Try the Niblick Nobble from Derby Brewing as it’s exclusively for this location.

We dined here during a stop over stay and the food was superb. The staff were friendly and attentive but also allowed us to relax and converse between courses. If you are staying in the hotel I can highly recommend thie Cast Iron Grill for a quite meal.

The Cast Iron Bar Grill is now located in the old Priory restaurant and it is such a shame to see how this once wonderful restaurant has fallen into chaos. Poorly staffed, the staff try their hardest, but having to wait 50 minutes from when ordering a drink to actually receiving it is appalling with food that is edible at best but vastly overpriced.

Whilst the food here was well cooked and served quickly the menus the exact same as every other Marriott I've stayed at. Surely with the provenance of the main hotel building there could be room for a bit of regional difference and some local specials ? The staff are very professional and helpful but unfortunately its just an expensive bistro bar tacked onto the hotel located between the pool and gym.

We had a three course meal at this venue, and both our meals were slightly overcooked, i had Lamb which was nice but chewy, i mentioned it to the waitress, which the comment she made was that i will let the chief know, no apology, and no come back on the matter, my wife's rack of Pork was overcooked by about 5 min, we didn't complain about this as we felt there seemed to be no point, the starters were very nice but in general we were not over impressed with our meal.

Good offers on at the Cast Iron Bar and Grill in Breadsall Priory. The setting is nice and comfortable, not fine dining, but a bit more intimate than a bar meal. They are running a 3 course set menu for £25, also a steak special as well as the a la carte menu, which we opted for. The steak was nicely cooked, as requested, and the sauces were plenty for 2 to share despite us ordering each! Chips were chunky and nice, salad and onion rings were a welcome accompaniment. Being unable to resist the cheeseboard, it was definitely enough to share. All in all, a very good meal, with excellent service.

We decided to eat in the restaurant as I surprised my wife with an overnight stayWe ate in the main restaurant and had a lovely waitress, the steak was fab!!The waitress brought out a plate with some cake and happy birthday written in chocolate, again a great touch !!The bill was ok for what we had however be mindful of the discretionary charge, I had no problem with paying it however clarified that the waitress that looked after us would not get it (only 20% We refused the discretionary charge and paid the amount as a tip ensuring that the waitress got the full amount. All in all a great time, Thankyou !!

We booked for 8 for a family birthday meal with no problem and when we got there they told us we couldn’t sit together and my mum and dad had to sit on a separate table to the rest of my family. I understand that things must be changed in response to Coronavirus but this was ridiculous and we were at no point when booking told this rule. In addition, the food was absolutely terrible and almost inedible, completely overpriced. We were not seated in the actual restaurant but in what looked like the breakfast room for people staying at the hotel. The only positive was the lovely waiter who served us. Overall a horrible experience and I will definitely not be returning.

Had a memorable family meal for my son’s 16th birthday, it being the second time we’ve visited.Service was outstanding attentive, good humoured and personable. My son was also thrilled to bits with the birthday attention and it really made his night.Every dish was perfectly cooked and very well presented. A well thought through wine list caters for most tastes. The emphasis here is on a sensible length menu done impeccably, rather than trying to do everything, all mediocre.
